Case Logic AUA-314BLK 14.1-Inch Laptop/ MacBook Air / Pro Retina Display and iPad Slim Case (Black)

I ordered this for my slimline Toshiba 15.6" laptop. The laptop is an odd size, long and narrow, none of my other laptop sleeves would work properly. Even bags sized for my laptop were not wide enough to also allow me to store the charger for the laptop, my iPad, and my phone. So, I ordered this 17.3 sized bag, and I am able to fit everything into this one bag, PLUS all of the necessary chargers and cables.The bag is attractive, black material with red piping", there is an outside zippered pouch with internal storage areas for pens, pencils, and enough room for my iPad and it's cable and charger. On the other side, there is an outside zippered pouch which fits my iPhone with room to spare, there is certainly enough space for a much larger Android or other type of cell phone. The inner area is just the right size for my laptop, there is a bit of space at each end which makes it easy to insert and remove the laptop. There is also an inner storage zippered compartment, just the right size for the cables and the charger for the laptop. With all 3 items packed inside of this bag, it still does not bulge out, or make it difficult to remove whichever item you need.The padding of this sleeve with handles is thick enough to provide adequate protection from bumps, and from being packed inside of a carry-on bag. The padding is not thick enough to save your laptop from a fall from height. But, it is not marketed as such, for ultra protection buy a much more expensive hard-sided laptop carrying case. The handles are well-padded and extremely convenient. My past laptop sleeves had no handles, and also no room for cables, chargers, tablets, and phones.This is a lot of carrier bag for a low price, the quality is much higher than the price would seem to indicate. As mentioned, I DID order one size up, had I ordered the recommended size for my laptop, there would not have been enough space for the tablet, phone, and all of the chargers. I recommend this carrying sleeve/case as a good quality, low-priced, and convenient carrier for all of your various phone and computer items and accessories. The outer cover is attractive, tough, and does the job.

i picked up this case to go with my new Acer C720 Chromebook, 11.6-Inch. i opted for the slightly larger case over the 11.6" size because i wanted to also have the option of carrying full-page paperwork and a few other items if necessary, without having to cram everything into the case. turns out that was a good decision!the chromebook fits into the laptop compartment with a bit of extra wiggle room, but it's not flopping about inside the case. the other main compartment is large enough for 8.5x11 paper or notebooks, manila folders, etc etc. this is handy because i bought the chromebook to use as a work machine at the bar, and the checkbook, bills, and other paperwork fits right in there alongside the chromebook.the front compartments are also very handy. i put the chromebook charger, a couple connecting cables, spare batteries, and office supplies in there without causing any bulge or having to cram anything in place. there are three compartments sewn into the side to hold everything neatly where i want it. i can see the front zipper for cell phones being very useful, but i keep my phone in my pocket and have yet to store anything in there.over all i'm very happy with this case from case logic. it feels like it is very sturdy, yet super lightweight. it's nothing to toss this over your shoulder fully-packed, and barely notice it due to its small size and thin profile. even though it's slightly larger than my chromebook requires, it's the perfect size for my needs.

Nice case and lot of compartments. The strap was thin. So I ordered a strap from Amazon. But otherwise a great buy.

First and foremost, unlike the model listed for 15.6" laptops, this one actually fits my Lenovo Flex 2 15D 15.6" laptop. Not sure how they rate these things because older laptops had a LOT more case beyond the screen edges... Who knows? But I digress... This discrepency is why I knocked it down to a 4 star rating. Sadly though, Caselogic is FAR from the only laptop case MFG that is guilty of this...The outer cover is your typical black ballistics nylon outer casing with a padded liner, padding while a bit on the thinnish side, is more than ample to protect the laptop from mild thumps and bumps as you go through your day. None of the soft laptop bags I have ever come across are sufficient for protecting against say a hard drop on concrete, but for normal use, this thing is very protective...There are zippers and velcro galonre. The strap clips are plastic, not metal. Good for weight reduction, and not prone to rusting over time. I could claim that plastics fail more often than the pot metal hardware used in some bags, but in all honesty, I have seen metal clips and buckles fail at a much higher rate than the plastic ones. Either way, plastic hardware is typical in this class bag...The storage compartments all appear to be lined with a soft sort of micro fiber ish fleece type material which makes it super easy on things like phone and tablet screens, and all nature of portable device cases. The dedicated pocket for the phone has ample room for my Samsung Galaxy S4, and the front compartment works great for housing the charger, mouse etc... A separate zippered compartment holds plenty of documents. The front and back are padded with a good heavy duty foam insulator to keep bumps and bashes away. And the tablet sleeve is there to allow you to carry your full arsenal of portable tech.You might ask yourself why you would want to carry a laptop, AND a phone, AND a tablet at the same time. Well, in all honesty it can be overkill, but then again, I travel, a LOT with my wife for our business, and we don't yet have a laptop for her. So she tends to swipe the laptop when she needs to get something done. As long as I don't need something PC specific, I can boot up the tablet, and say check on orders, make my blog entries, do client relations communications etc... I love my Galaxy S4 though. I have been known to put my Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard in the tablet pocket to use with the Galaxy on the go! The phone pocket is great for more formal meetings when you don't want the big smartphone lump in your shirt / suit / pants pockets distracting from how sharp dressed you are for your meeting.One part I did not like about it is the incredibly cheap construction and materials of the shoulder strap pad. It seems so incredibly poorly made, and just seems out of place on this laptop bag. Case Logic really should switch to a better made piece for this... I find this to be mostly universally true of laptop cases though, and I suspect only the top end cases have even vaguely adequate shoulder strap pads. If you search Amazon you will find a large selection of add on shoulder strap pads for laptop / messenger bags. Pretty typical problem with all of them! I have the Planet Waves Gel Guitar strap choulder pad, a bit wide, but should work and make this MUCH more secure, and comfortable to boot!My case tends to hold my Lenovo Flex2 15D 15.6" laptop, my Samsung Galaxy S4 in an Otterbox Defender, chargers for both, cable lock for the laptop, mouse, pens, cables, a 10" tablet and its charger, and typically a thick folder or two of letter size documentation for various meetings. With the full load everything is well contained with no funny bumps or protrusions. The strap that holds it to rolling luggage is secure and solid, keeps it well in place. I have at least for testing tossed in my now obsolete Pengpod 1000 10" Linux tablet and charger.The only time I have had it where it had anything that made it odd or lumpy was when carrying an extra pair of external speakers that were somewhat on the largeish side that I was bringing to a client demonstration for a family members business... And even that wasn't too offensive.All in all this is a great laptop case, particularly for the money. Yes it could be better. But in order to get better you are going to likely cough out a couple of hundred bucks, and end up with a high maintenance leather case. I wanted to avoid the cost and maintenance problems associated with leather... Simply put, this case is ideal for my use, and you may find it ideal too. Just don't expect the recommended sizing to be accurate!I wanted to address the issue I have seen on one other users customer photos where the corner seam came undone after a few days. There was no mention in the photo caption if there was any sort of warranty support / return they had, I have had caselogic products in the past and never experienced a sewing failure (although I did have a CD pocket case that had a zipper die after years of abuse...). I would think the zipper failure would be quite uncommon, noisy / squeaky plastic strap hardware is no surprise though, neither would noisy squeaky metal strap hardware. It is the nature of the beast.
