I purchased these steps for a 2006 F250 I had just purchased. Install was straight forward and the instructions were good. It is my understanding that some of the newer models plug in to the obd2 port and don’t require as much wiring which would be nice. If you are not comfortable with wiring this may be a bit more challenging but if you are comfortable doing your own wiring this is not a hard job at all. On my truck it involved pulling the plastic trim off the interior kick panels and door sills. There were a couple wires that matched the description in the instructions so you have to determine which one is the correct wire. Once wired up correctly these steps are awesome. For me they are worth the money to not have the bulky nerf steps on the truck but not loose the convenience of having a step. I have had them on there for a little less than 6 months and have never had it not function properly. Highly recommend these steps!

I'd been looking at these for a long time, but the price kept me from buying them. After nearly seven years, my OEM running boards finally started looking their age and it was time to do something, so I bit the bullet and ordered a set of AMP Research Power Steps. They arrived quickly and I did the install myself. It took me longer than the estimated three hours, but I finally got them on and working. The most difficult part was running the wiring harness and finding the right wire on the front-drivers side. They are very nice in both workmanship and appearance and function flawlessly. The bottom of my doors is 30 inches from the ground and the steps are 21 inches -- a 9 inch drop. If you've been thinking about a set of these, don't wait as long as I did, buy them! You won't be disappointed.

Not an easy install but well worth it. Love them. Consider having someone who has installed before do the work. We also ordered on override for when you are loading and don;t want them to come out. However, I have not yet used the override. These are wider and a little lower than most running boards making it much easier to get in and out of the truck.

Expensive but worth it. Looks great. Works great. Takes time to install.

I spent weeks reading and studying running board design and options. This one is a winner. Splits the distance between ground and floorboards. Wide step. Good grip. Tucks out of sight and away from potential obstacles. Solid construction with 200+ pound folks getting in and out on a daily basis.Had it on the Excursion for over 18 months now. Going into 2nd winter. Its survived heavy snow loads and salt in Utah...as well as constant sub zero temperatures in North Dakota. My wife's daily driver...and with 7 kids getting in and out of the truck on a daily basis I believe its held up very well. I did have the trigger wire pull out on passenger door twice...but that was due to my poor installation.

First time install as a DIY and was truly easy. The tech support service was outstanding as I did encounter some confusion as to which wire to tap into for the door activation. Tech support patiently guided me through the process and was able to resolve issue. The installation steps if followed work flawlessly.

Worth the price. I didn't like the look of the stationary factory running boards on my truck. I took them off a while back in anticipation of buying electric steps. It was hard to swallow the price of these, but they are worth it. Very well designed kit, high quality product. Install took me about 5-6 hours by myself. If you can purchase the OBDII connection for your truck (mine was too old) this will save you significant install time.
