This stuff is quite useful for fixing patches in your backyard. I used it, and it grows quite healthy grass.

Did Not Grow Any Grass
I used this in September when the recommended temperature range was normal for multiple weeks. I watered and applied as recommended. Yet nothing grew. I spent time adding fill to even out the yard, raked, removed existing weeds/grass/anything, and nothing grew. This wasn't just a waste of money for the purchase, but a waste of multiple hours, gasoline, and water. I was given a refund, but this product didn't grow as advertised.

Overall, not bad.
Pros: Spreads easily, covers quite a bit, you don't have to do hardly any work to regrow the grass or prep the lawn for it, it doesn't smell (smells like wood chips), and it prevents, mostly, the birds and other animals from eating the seeds. Works great for damp areas with fresh dirt. For example, if you have a dirt patch and want to turn it into a grassy lawn, keep it moist enough and they'll grow rather quickly.Cons: if you want it to grow faster, you have to prep the lawn in dead grass areas; you gotta remove the grass, then spread the seeds. We live in San Diego, Cali, so the weather isn't overly dry or hot, but I still had to water once, daily, in the beginning, to keep the mixture moist enough to settle in; after that I water every other day or so. It takes time, so mow your lawn, then spread seeds, water, water, water, and then let it do its thing. We didn't cut the graww for 3 weeks so it had plenty of time to settle in amd that seemed to do the trick. Some areas never grew, and others flourished. It all depends on the dirt, how much sun, drainage of your yard, and how often you water. Watering doesn't need to be flooding, but just your hose on "shower" mode and a little sprinkle over the patch is fine. No different than how you would water a potter plant. The grass is a very vibrant green, soft, healthy, and overall strong. Worth the wait.Hope this all helps. Happy growing!

Must water it so the contents don't dry!
This is the second time I bought this bag. The first time the baby grass grew out but for some reason it died fast. The second time around I saw better progress and it grew fairly quick. I say give it two weeks with always keeping it moist and do not over water.

Works in 7 days!
Works as described! The back part of the photo is after 7 days. The front was just laid two days ago (to show you what it looks like out of the bag). This is the only product that has worked on my lawn, which is challenged by pests and pine trees. I water twice a day. I’ve bought several bags at this point. I truly don’t understand the bad reviews! Just follow the directions and it should work, depending on your climate. (PS: Don’t be me and our fertilizer on the grass once it’s looking good. It will kill the seedlings.)

Works under right conditions
Put this down in October over a 2x2 Sq ft area of dirt. Weather was in the 60's with rain and overcast for about 2 weeks. I also watered it daily and the overcast kept the seeds from drying out. 14 days later the patch filled in with thin blades of grass and has been getting thicker by the day. You can't even tell the area was completely bare before. Highly recommend if looking to cover bare spots and able to provide it the right conditions!
