Perfect water filter for what I needed
Worked perfect to catch lime/calcium sand in the water from clogging up the washing machine water inlet screen. We are on Spring water. added cut-off valves on either side of filter to make cleaning it very easy.

Works
Had it screening a soaker hose attached to a spigot (with a back flow preventer and pressure regulator) while waiting on a permanent solution. The washers it came with were a little funky and it leaked, but once I swapped the washers out for some nice new ones it sealed up tight. This is NOT for a constant pressure application in my opinion. I would not install this indoors. This is best suited for an outdoor hose that always has a pressure release when the water is flowing (I.e. sprinkler, soaker)I’d look at a proper spin down filter if you’re going to do something indoors. The housing on those are much more robust.

Works great, just be careful with water pressure
We are using these to replace the bulky black plastic irrigation filters that leak after 1 month. However, my son didn't realize I had gotten a pressure regulator (brass, 35-45 psi) to put upstream to protect this filter and after several uses with an irrigation timer shutting (quickly), the side of this filter blew out. Thankfully we were nearby so could shut the water off quickly. Our normal water pressure is pretty high so now we are using these (4 of them) with no issues so far with the brass regulator upstream of this filter. I wish they could supply a finer mesh to preserve my irrigation hoses longer but it is a give and take with DIY irrigation.

It does the job but with some flaws.
I purchased this filter to be installed before the washing machine to filter the calcium particles in our water system. First time I installed the filter, I did not pay any attention to the built qualities of the filter. When I installed it, it seemed everything were working good without leaks. However, over the night, the filter housing leaked water from the o-ring in the clear filter housing. The other fittings on the filter were leak free. The clear filter housing was hand tightened, but it should not have leaked water. our water pressure is at about 70 PSI.When I disassembled the filter down and investigated the parts, I found lots of burrs (flaw in the mold caused access plastic to squeeze out through the mold joints) at the mold joints on the black plastic housing. These burrs were at the housing rim and the sides of the housing. See attached photos before clean up. The clear filter cup was perfect with no issues, but the black O-ring was damaged by the burrs scrapping the rubber seal surface when the filter housing was assembled. Also, the surface on the rim which was to be sealed against the O-ring was rough, so creating a good seal was questionable.I thought about returning the filter for a better made filter. This led me to research the website and looking at these specific locations on the filters for any issues from the pictures on the websites. After reviewing many different brands and models of the same $10 to $20 price range, I did not see any differences, unless I pay more money for it.So, I decided to correct the problem myself by shaving the burrs off from the joints. I took a utility knife blade and carefully scraped the burrs off. After that, I used extra fine sandpaper to sand down the joints. I also sanded the rim surface with same sandpaper just to get rid of the roughness. See the pictures showing after sanding. Now I have this filter back in service. It has been two days without any leaks. I guess the damage on the o-ring was not serious enough that it sealed the filter housing okay. However, there is another flaw I found as I was assembling the filter back together. The filter screens the filter comes with is shorter than the space the screen fits between upper housing and the clear filter cup. if you do not install it just right, you end up getting a gap at the bottom of the cup such small particles will escape the filter screen. For this reason, I recommend you installing the filter screen in the upper black housing barely fitting over the inner tube first. And then, put the clear cup carefully over the screen until the bottom edge of screen makes a positive contact with the bottom of the cup before screwing the upper housing and the cup together to finish the assembly. Do not over tighten the filter housing and the cup. After all they are plastic.Even though I had to work on this filter to make it leak proof, I think you cannot beat the price.I only recommend this filter and same looking filters on the Amazon market to those who can do this handy work. This is an update:After 2 weeks in installation, the clear filter housing cracked and leaked water. See attached photos. My laundry room is located on 2nd floor, and the water leak caused damages all over the 2nd floor carpets and cork flooring and the first floor ceiling and walls. It caused damages in many thousands of dollars. Lucky when the leak started, I was in the house and was able to act quickly to minimize what could have been a total destruction of the house. This is the case of You get what you pay for.If you are looking for an In-Line filter, please check the pressure rating first. And, stay away from products like this.

Works well as a washing machine filter.
I use this on my washing machine to filter out the lyme from our well water and to all but stop the clogging of the intake valve filter. So far so good, cleaned the valve screen and attached this to the back of the washer (alternatively you could attach it at the spigot) and viola, washer is working better than it has in awhile.

Poor Quality
After only a hand full of uses a leak developed in the top of the assembly. On a positive note, the seller is very responsive and sending me a replacement. Hopefully it will do better.
