Still germinated after 3 years in my basement.
I bought this in June of 2016 and it sat in my basement for three years. I found it down there this year and thought what the heck I will roll it out next to my vegetable garden to hopefully attract more pollinators. It germinated within a few days and now I have beautiful flowers, my favorite being the poppies. I didn't put anything on top of the Roll, it was just garden soil under it and I rolled out the roll and kept it moist for a few days. It is definitely more of a prairie or a wildflower Garden type look. Since it's just random seeds the flowers grow randomly so it doesn't look super neat or organized. I like that looks so it's fine.

Didn't grow after following instructions
Mat was easy to put down but I followed all directions and I have one flower out of buying two mats. Waste of my money. Normally I have green thumb with my outdoor garden but 3 months later there is just one flower. Extremely disappointing.

Where are the flowers
I’ve had this mat in for 2wk and have faithfully watered 2X a day without soaking but only have little sprouts around the edges of the mat. If they don’t com up through the mat my plantar is gonna look pretty sad.A month later and I only have very scattered seedlings. Big disappointment.Three months later I finally have flowers, maybe before the snow flies. Not too many blooms, mostly greenery, but the sCattered blossoms are pretty. Next year I will give bagged seed a whirl…

So Exciting To See These Bloom - Lasted all season
I had a wonderful experience with "Roll Out Flowers" (just beautiful!) and the hummingbird who visits my porch especially loved. I'm not sure why they didn't work for others providing reviews. I've uploaded images of flowers from last year's season and have purchased again this year. The flowers came up slowly so be patient -- and it's very important to keep the soil moist so the seeds germinate. Interestingly, as some of the wild flowers passed last season, others grew in their place so there were different flowers blooming all season in my window boxes.Separately, and sweet fun, was that the birds also hung out around the flowers for a different reason. I planted the roll-out flowers in two window boxes lined with coconut husk (using potting soil from Home Depot). In the beginning of the season, birds kept flying in to attempt to grab coconut husk for their nests. The coconut husk is tough to separate out so many a squabble occurred as different birds and types of birds competed to pull out coconut husk from the window boxes.

Easy
OMG I wasnt sure but this actually works! All you do is rake the soil and roll out the flower carpet and water. The trick is to keep it moist. It took less than a week for the seedlings to start coming up. They are growing fast I cant wait to see the flowers!

Buy real seeds. It's worth the wait!!
These "roll out flowers" are horrible. They have a thin fabric sheet over the green seed layer, which is supposed to contain water or something, which it doesn't. The fabric layer blows off with even the slightest wind, and so does the seed layer. It's a complete waste of money, stick with real seeds. I bought this item hoping I would get some nice flowers, without all of the hard yard work. I was wrong. The work it's gonna take chasing these things all over my yard, because the wind takes them away, is harder than any yard work that I could do.

works but with poor results and a lot of work and did not attract any butterflies or hummingbirds
I waited a whole season to write this review. First, I want to say that if you follow ALL the instructions (even the optional ones) you will get a good amount of plants. However, it was a lot of work and the plants that grew looked like weeds. I bought this product to grow in 2 long flower boxes I have on my deck. I normally spend $200 on flowers that last until the Fall and look beautiful but I wanted to save some money and also attract more butterflies and Hummingbirds. I followed all the instructions, including raking the soil, cutting the roll to fit each bed, then placing topsoil on the top. I had to buy 2 bags of potting soil in order to cover all the rolls with a 1/4 of soil. Each bag cost about $6, so add that to the $20 roll. Next, you need to water at least twice a day. That was insane! about 10 days later I began to see some sprouts which was very promising. The plants grow and there were many so I was excited for a massive amount of blooms. About 42 days after planting , I began to see my first blooms. It was basically a ton of tall, white baby's breath. Again, it looked like weeds. A couple of weeks later the bachelor buttons began to bloom...again, very tall and leggy looking. There were some very tall, tiny flowered, yellow poppies. Lots of unsightly foliage topped with teeny tiny flowers, all of which were basically yellow...nothing red to attract hummingbirds. Although, there were flowers blooming until the Fall, they were tall, leggy and only a few blooms at a time. Definitely not ideal for flower boxes and literally did not attract any butterflies except 3 cabbage whites! A couple hummingbirds stopped by and quickly left as there were no flowers that they could drink from. Very disappointing. Everyone asked me why I let weeds grow in my flower boxes. If you want to start with seeds, you better off buying 20 packets of various seeds for $1 each and sprinkling them on your flower boxes/bed. A lot less work and you can pick which flowers you want rather than getting a bunch of ones that don't look good. I would definitely NOT recommend this product.
