This lens attachments, like all the others from Altura are hit and miss. They work, they do the job, and they get it down for cheap. If you're an amateur photographer, this is a great little gadget to familiarize yourself with a telephoto lens without going out and buying a very expensive one. There is a learning curve and these lenses require some "tweaking" so be willing to learn and try new things. I attached a couple snapshots of the moon with a 55-200mm stock lens on a Nikon D3300. The photos are with and without the Telephoto lens attachment so you can get a rough idea of the lens attachments capabilities. All in all, it's a good deal and it's fun. If you need pro quality, buy a pro lens. If you want to take great, fun pictures and learn about lenses, get this. Theres always time for $1000 lenses later.

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 camera. With this lens there is vignetting when used for minimum telephoto effect, but one is not likely to use this lens attachment this way. When increased so the vignetting goes away you get something like the camera's full telephoto mode without the attachment. However much greater telephoto effect is possible. You will almost certainly need to use a tripod for such shots. I find the focusing somewhat unreliable at full telephoto effect with this lens, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I am attaching some pictures. One without the attachment, one showing the vignetting, a third without vignetting and the rest at the extreme telephoto effect. All are from the same location (on a tripod), the last two are pointed at something perhaps more revealing. (It comes with a pouch and a good lens cleaning cloth -- nice bonus.)

This is a cool little camera accessory. It gives you just enough extra zoom to take pictures of people at a party without being in everyone's face with the camera. It makes the lens that came with my camera much more useful, and is a lot less expensive than buying another lens.

Very nice lens. Definitely worth the $$, as opposed to spending a fortune on a telephoto lens. My only negative comment is that is not a lens that will attach quickly. If you plan to use it often, make sure to keep that in mind.

This lens was very high quality, not plastic. Has weight to it, metal and real glass. Does what is advertised!
