Did you buy a Subaru subject to the Battery Settlement? I did. Dealing with the dealerships and Subaru to get them to replace a drained battery and fix the parasitic draw issue is a nightmare, and has been for me and my family.I did a lot of homework on this issue. I checked out endless Reddits and Youtube videos about the parasitic draw issue.Then I discovered this baby. Even though my brand new AGM battery was completely drained after driving for ONE DAY after I installed it using the Service Manual, and even AFTER the dealership tried to tell me that the new AGM battery had to be replaced (it didn't), I purchased this as a last-ditch effort when the dealership refused to honor the settlement by telling me they could not conduct a parasitic draw test without me buying a new battery (again).I purchased on Amazon, and it was delivered the same day.The Instructions on use were NOT with the charger, but there is a LINK provided in the packaging that allows you to download the PDF file for the manual.Setup was a breeze. I installed the included wall-mount holder in my garage in less than two minutes. I connected the alligator clips to the power wires on the unit. I read the manual for the proper charging instructions applicable to my battery configuration (positive-grounded versus negative-grounded: spoiler alert, almost every car has negative grounded). I attached the unit according to those instructions, selected the mode (mine was for an AGM battery), and bingo-bango, in a few hours I had nearly 50% charge on what had been an almost completely dead battery.***a few caveats***1. Be sure to take good care of the wires. They are not as thick as the battery wires, so they can easily be damaged.2. The unit runs warm, so when I unplugged it, it was warm to the touch. Keep this in mind when deciding what to place it on. It has four rubber feet, but I would still be careful.3. You can use this as a conditioner, charger or repair unit, and it will sense overcharge, and sense overheat, so it has some built in safety features that are nice, but I would still check the unit periodically.4. I used this for a 12v car battery, but this unit can also be used for 6v batteries and other types, so be sure that you select the right mode in order to ensure proper configuration while it is charging. The lights and indicators are clear and easy to use.Overall, I could not be happier. Highly recommend.

After I explained the issues with my NOCO Genius 5 charger—displaying a solid red reverse polarity light despite correct connections, no charging activity, cycling through all lights when unplugged, and an unresponsive mode button—he promptly provided clear instructions for returning the defective device. However, I was disappointed to learn that, despite purchasing the charger on May 7,2025, I had to cover the shipping costs for the warranty repair or replacement, which added an unexpected expense to resolving the issue with a brand-new product.I will update this review after my GENIUS 5 is returned to me.

I purchased this NOCO battery charger to maintain the battery in my 2000 Ford Ranger, which isn't driven very often. I ran the battery fixer mode, and now it's automatically in maintenance mode, and it's working perfectly. My truck starts right up every time.The alligator clip clamps were easy to attach to my battery terminals, and the cord's locking mechanism ensures a secure connection. The unit operates silently, with no noticeable noise. The indicator lights are intuitive, going from red to green to clearly show the charging status. The instructions provide detailed information about the indicators and modes, though I primarily use the maintenance mode. The charger itself is compact and easy to store.This NOCO charger is packed with safety features. It tapers the charge to prevent overcharging, and the cord's design prevents reverse polarity issues. The instructions also mention that it protects against problems if you accidentally connect the clamps to the wrong terminals.While not the cheapest option, NOCO has a solid reputation, and in my experience, this charger performs exactly as intended. Great compact Battery Charger. When I saw the size, I wasn't sure i had made the right choice, but it is really a great little Charger for my 2019 Lincoln MKC. Easy to use, the Clamps are the right size for any Auto/Motorcycle/Marine Battery. Very good quality. It charged my Battery, left it on for 3 or 4 hours but had to disconnect because of thunderstorms moved in. Verified the charge by opening the rear gate, electronic start, and electric door opener. However, the MKC didn't hold the charge overnight. Battery is over 3 years old. A neighbor had previously charged it with his big charger and we thought maybe hadn't charged long enough but after using this one also, we're going to get a new battery. Would buy this again. Highly recommend.
