HHKBPFU Professional Hybrid White PD-KB800W

Obviously, this isn't for everyone, but I love it. Pairing was easy. However, I bought a hkkb prof BT that seemed to be difficult to pair. You could not switch easily between devices. With this Fn+Ctrl + n where n is one the 4 devices configured. I had a Niz plum and Razer huntsman clicky before. Gave them away.

An excellent product making typing a kind of enjoyment. Very quick delivery.

Worth every penny

The texture of the key caps is uneven. Looks like finger oil and couldn’t be cleaned off. Couldn’t believe it’s a $300+ keyboard. I have other Topre keyboards like Realforce 104u and Leopold fc660c, HHKB has the lowest quality and it feels cheaper than a $150 Filco.

I like how reliably bluetooth works. Was able to pair with my linux laptop, although, without reading manual couldn't figure out at first, how to confirm the pin (type it on HHKB and press Enter).I don't like that it is a bit softer than Professional 2, which to me seems less comfortable: previously I could have my hands resting on the keyboard.Since I don't have Windows nor Mac I can't say how useful is keys remapping software. But I've been pretty happy with the standard layout and my Professional 2 anyway.

The best new feature (for me) is the keyboard remapping utility. I've wasted countless hours optimizing my keyboard configurations to do things like remap the Escape key etc. (I'm a vi user). At the risk of decreasing security, I've even tried add-on software, which was often a pain to use and introduced bugs of its own. In contrast, Fujitsu's remap utility is super easy to use and accomplishes everything I've wanted, without the need to hack/customize every computer I use.Another nicety is the ability to communicate over USB and not use battery power. Plus the ability to pair with 4 devices and switch between them.Key resistance of the Hybrid is significantly less than the HHKB Professional BT--a change I happen to like. Key travel distance might be a little shorter with the Hybrid, too. Anyway, all-in-all, I can type faster, with less effort and fewer errors on the Hybrid.The one change I do NOT like (the reason for only 4 stars) is that the Hybrid keys make a hollow sound that even exhibits a resonant tone (roughly Middle C), regardless of which keys are pressed. In comparison, the old HHKB Professional BT keys deliver a solid thunk that has no tonality and is very satisfying. I find the Hybrid sound irritating. (If someone else was doing the typing, it might be even more annoying.)Save yourself a few bucks and buy direct from the manufacturer, although I don't know what their return policy is. Shipment was fast via FedEx.2020-06-11 Update: While I don't like the noise, I don't really notice it when working. I *do* like the easier key action--my fingers fly! This alone has been worth the purchase. Another reviewer remarked they can't rest their hands on this keyboard, but I don't find that to be the case--the keys aren't that soft IMHO.As for the key remapping software, it does have a major limitation of mapping entire keys. IOW, the software doesn't permit separate mapping of shift-, control-, command-, alt-, or option- versions of keys. Please, Fujitsu, add this capability!2020-07-03 Update: I'm finding the softer touch is leading to some unwanted key-presses. Keys don't have to be depressed much at all to register. It's possible to register keystrokes and not even know it by feel. This is not good.2020-08-20 Update: on multiple occasions just today, I've gotten false inputs of the "2" key--a 2 appearing in typed text without my having pressed that key or any key near it. This is while using USB. Scary. Wondering if it's vibration induced. As mentioned, very little travel is required to activate the keys. The keyboard is on a solid desk with a pad underneath, though, so these false inputs might be somehow electrical. I'm becoming quite disenchanted with this keyboard in spite of being able to type faster on it.
