Saving My Clothes, My Wallet, and the Planet

My black tank tops and sweats were lookin’ tired—like, “I’ve been through five summers, two breakups, and a bottle of red wine” tired. But I wasn’t about to toss my comfy faves into the abyss of textile waste. So I grabbed this bottle of Rit Dye in Black, whispered a little prayer to the DIY gods, and went to work.✨ The result? ✨Loungewear glow-up. My tanks and sweatpants went from faded flop to freshly dipped in night magic. I didn’t just save money—I basically rebuilt my chill-girl wardrobe for the cost of a drive-thru meal.Easy to use. No chaos. And now I strut around the house like a sustainable queen in my midnight-soft glory. If you’ve got a faded fave, don’t say goodbye—say “get in loser, we’re dyeing.”

Good for removing Rit dye

this is not good for removing pre existing dye that wasnt from rit. however it is good at removing rit dye off of things thats been dyed with it.

looks like the color

works, use small portions at a time and watch a video before actually dying your clothes! also i washed it and the dye hasn't come off on any of my other clothing. there's lots of dye for me to still use.

Did NOT work on white bathing suit with dye transfer

Did NOT work on my white bathing suit. I accidentally washed my white bathing suit with neon green jogging shorts & the color unfortunately bled. Tried the stovetop method & didn’t make a difference at all. Waste of money.

Tiny Box like soap from a laundromat vending machine.

Tiny Box like soap from a laundromat vending machine. That was the first shock for me..when it was finally in my hands. At this size I would have needed 4 of these to do an adequate job.Instead I went with a lesser-whitening effect than I wanted out of pure economic$.I flatout refuse to spend over $30 to bleach out a thin bedspread...just to spend $30 more on the dyes and dye fixatives. So went with 1...BOX...then the dyes...so "less white" gives you less contrast in tie dye for sure!In hindsight, it might be cheaper to buy a new white dyable bedspread (or garment) and skip this step if you want to guarantee accurate dye colorsI wish I knew why the companies say not to bleach (which would be VERY inexpensive)That is what has me wondering why...other than if you do it too strong, you'll ruin the fibres..but I would not take it that far with strength nor duration...and this stuff stinks almost as bad as bleach.Maybe 3 "dollar store" bottles of peroxide might pull it off better than this? Not Sure.I wish for the company to offer an economy SIZE version of this product (like $20 for a box with 10x the quantity) so I and others might not feel disgusted with the budget of removing a color on something like a bedspread--which I did.My point is: taking color away should not cost more than putting color in!That's like charging more for primer than gloss paint which is not the case.

It really really works.

This die really doesn’t need a review it’s been working for 100 years. It works every time. When my jeans get to the point that they don’t look new anymore, I just whip out a box of die and it’s like I went to the store again.
