This is the only product of its kind that actually works for me
Here's my use case: I'm traveling and I want to play videos from my iPad Pro on the hotel television. The easy way to do this would be to plug a USB-C to HDMI adapter into my iPad and run an HDMI cable from my iPad to the hotel television. The problem? This set up means that I have to bring an HDMI cable with me. I don't want to do this. I'm already bringing several USB-C cables. I want to use one of those those. So I need an adapter that plugs into my hotel television that allows me to use a USB-C cable instead of an HDMI cable. This adapter does this, and it does it reliably. Two other products I tested completely failed. (Elebase and ULT-WIIQ) The ELUTENG is the only one I've tried that actually worked. Also, VERY IMPORTANT: These products are directional. That means that the signal is only designed to go one way. This one transmits a signal from a USB-C output/source to an HDMI input. You can also get versions that take an HDMI output and convert it for a USB-C input. If you order an adapter that is designed to work in the opposite direction of what you need, it will not work for you.

Does not change usb protocol to hdmi protocol. Only changes the connector.
These didn't work for me. I need a more expensive device to change usb protocol into hdmi protocol. It's not as simple as adapting the connectors.

Works, but you do need a thunderbolt cable
I didn't know what a thunderbolt cable was, but figured I had enough USB-C cables, surely one of them must be a thunderbolt, right? No. Unless you've specifically bought a thunderbolt cable, it's unlikely you just have one in your closet, even though they're the right shape. You can tell them because they have a lightning bolt symbol on the side. Note that the thunderbolt standard only allows cables up to 2m long, although you can find 3m ones for sale, and the one I bought did work.Once I got the thunderbolt cable, it worked like a charm as soon as I plugged it in, no problems at all.

Does exactly what it is supposed to and does it great.
Works perfectly for usb-c to HDMI if that's all you need. Does the job for all but the most extreme edge cases. The description of this device is that it will take your USB c and convert it to HDMI. The idea being that it'll be able to translate between just the 2.The reality is that this device converts usb-c to displayport and then displayport to HDMI. This causes a drastic drop in signal between usb-c to HDMI as you lose signal during every translation. This is not noticeable to a person, but this is noticeable to a machine. You will lose the PD from the USB-c and the HDMI will suffer, but only at the very most extreme edge case (basically anything on the market commercial or consumer will work perfectly and if you need absolute precise and extreme performance, you shouldn't be using a converter anyway). The interior is held in place with melted plastic, which isn't the worst idea in the world, but it does serve to obfuscate the chipset used for the conversion.I needed a different device than this and thought I'd be able to take a shortcut with this, but I could not.It does not go back together easily and a dissection will destroy it. But you won't be needing to disect it. It won't break on you.Again, this will work great for the person reading this review. I absolutely recommend it to anyone who needs a usb-c to HDMI adapter. Don't even think twice about purchasing anything else.

Works, but doesn't support DDC controls
I figured with this supporting thunderbolt, it would support the full range of HDMI features, but unfortunately it doesn't support DDC over HDMI where I could control my monitor's brightness, color controls, contrast, etc.Oh well, the hunt continues for an adapter that will work

Works Great!
I spent a while looking for an adapter like this so that I could watch content from my Samsung phone on a TV while just bringing a USB C cable and this adapter. Like mentioned in the description, it only works with a USB C 3.1 cable or higher.I originally bought the "Elebase" brand USB-C to HMDI adapter, but it kept cutting in and out. I only started testing this one out for an hour or so, but so far it works perfectly with a USB C 3.2 cable.I believe most of the bad reviews are people who are using an improper cable or trying to convert in the opposite direction.I'll update my review depending on the longevity of this product, but so far it works great!

Simply works
Not much to say other than it works the way it’s supposed to. I like that it’s so small profile. Obviously make sure this is the correct thing you need. I used mine to take a type-c/thunderbolt/usb4 (whatever you want to call it) display cable from a computer to an hdmi port on a monitor. Works perfectly, doesn’t inhibit the capability of the monitor or the computer.
