Buy Good Night, Good Knight too
My sons and daughter, ages 3 to 7, love this book. My kindergartener quotes from it at school to make his friends laugh. I used it years ago when I did childrens' programming at our library. The illustrations are cute, but the story keeps them interested. I would recommend starting with "Good Night, Good Knight" to introduce the characters and style, It's a sweet bedtime story, but not overly sappy; with repetition that you can use to involve the kids and keep them guessing at what will happen next. But then, definitely don't miss out on "Get Well, Good Knight" It's got a more interesting and fun story line to keep older kids interested. Both of these books are good for both boys and girls. I'd recommend this one for ages 4-8, but really perfect for 5-6. "Good Night..." is good for 3-6 year olds. They are both good books to help build thinking skills, And with a Knight and his horse, and dragons, and other forest dwellers ;) you can't go wrong.

Favorite Early Reader Series
The Good Knight series is one of my - and my child's - favorite early reader series! We have a toddler, not a reader, and I love that the content and language is mild, yet silly and fun. Unlike other early readers we have read the characters do not tell each other to "shut up," call each other or things "stupid," etc., the content is not geared towards mostly boys or mostly girls, and the stories have a true plot. The dragons are very much like young children - making mistakes, having fun, learning how to care for others and fix their mistakes when they happen - and the Good Knight is their ever-patient companion and teacher. This is a great series...- to be read aloud together, or read independently- for boys and girls- for children ages 2-8 (Pre-K - 2nd grade)

Cute, great for little readers
My son really likes this series of books. He is a very fluent reader but gets bored easily. I purchase these when he was in first grade and he loved them and read them through very eagarly. I will be looking for more white these characters in the future for sure!

Good story
Not quite as charming as the original and a slightly higher reading level. Still a good book, especially for kids who love the first one. Let's face it, kids aren't as picky as adults are and tend to be quite happy with more of the characters they love, even if the material isn't quite as strong as the original. Good book, best for fans.

Great books
After getting 2 other Good Knight books, we learned there were more to this collection. I highly recommend them. The books all have a great story, they are funny and have a little lesson. They are a perfect bedtime read as they are not to long and not to short. Definitely click on the author. She is funny and has some cute YouTube posts.

Adorable!
I wish I had known of this series before a few of them went out of print! This is such a sweet bedtime book for little boys! It is actually a little long for our 4 year old but he stays with it and enjoys it. My 7 year old asks us to read it almost every night.
