Q: Does it work with well water

Yes it does. As GE said, you need to make sure your water from the well is safe to begin with. Have it checked. Otherwise it's fantastic. Advanced or premium is only way to go. Premium may reduce your water pressure a bit. It surely helped with any smells and i think the filter is overall the best after swapping out 5 different models.

Q: I bought this and one of the plastic tabs at the top is broken. I got the housing on and filter closed, will it work with only one tab?

Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. We hate to hear the filter was damaged upon arrival. You may want to check with the retailer from whom you purchased the filter about your warranty coverage. If that is not possible, and if you are able to securely install the filter even though one of the plastic tab is broken, it should be fine. Q: Anyone knows if there is any aftermarket options for there GE filters?

We do not recommend using third party or after market filters in our filtration systems as we can't be certain these filters have passed the same stringent testing we put our GE branded filters through including being certified to NSF/ANSI 42 standards by IAPMO. Q: Do I need any food grade grease if so what kind ?

I use it on O ring. When first installed it had a tiny leak dripping down filter housing. Tried taking off and turning around housing with no luck. I bought small tube of food grade grease and after filter replacement I clean O ring and apply small amount to finger and rub around gasket. 2 years now no leaks.
