Beautiful lyre

This lyre is a beautiful instrument. The wood is beautiful and I love the ornamental engraving around the sound hole. As the stings adjust, it is beginning to hold it's tuning well. I tried a few tuning apps and had great results with one called Instrument Tuner on the Play store. It arrived very fast and overall, I am very happy with my purchase. It also comes with a nice gig bag, extra set of strings, tuning wrench and a pickup! Well worth the money.

I'm not instrument guru, but it makes lovely music

Christmas gift for our 15yo daughter. Decided to order this at the last minute and am so pleased with the quality and and sound. My children are very musically talented, they already have experience

Nice Harp.

The only issue I have with this is really not an issue with anything functional. The string guard at the bottom doesn't really line up well where you thread the strings through but it DOES line up well enough that all the strings CAN be threaded through. That's what matters most. The harp itself is much nicer than my Aklot Deerhead for the main reason of the strings being spread wider and less likely to have the rub-buzz, or accidentally overshooting and plucking the wrong string cause your nail happens to be just a hair too long.I have pretty small hands, but these string spacing feel much better. It will take some getting used to since I started on the deerhead, but I'm very pleased!

Easier to tune than you think

With the subject line of my review being said, prepare to needing to tweak the tuning every day. That’s normal! I tuned my newly bought lyre three times the first day and then played a tune. The next day I tuned it again, with less tuning being needed. I played several pieces. I’m not a professional on the lyre but I can get music out of it and am improving with the plucking method. The key is not turning the wrench provided on those pegs very much at all. When it was brand new some strings were quite loose. I turned them a little more, but any strings that had any tightness at all, I only turned them less than half a millimeter at a time! No joking! It needs very little to make a big change. Now, I want to share what I found on the Web that was a big help to me.“Your new strings need to be stretched in. You can repeatedly tune it a million times, OR you can break in the strings by gently tugging upwards on them with one or two fingers. Being a guitarist I know how far I can bend a string without breaking it- if you aren't sure, even the most gentle tug will help. By tugging upwards on the strings (in a few different spots) you will GREATLY reduce the time it takes to break in your strings. I'm talking weeks>hours. I just got a 16 string lyre today, so ofc (of course) it has brand new strings. I used my string stretching method and it's holding a tune already. I don't know about yours, but the strings on mine are very similar if not identical to guitar strings.”
