I am in love
I loved my ukulele the way it was, but after my husband put on a low G on my ukulele it sounds even better. Beautiful like a guitar

Really Rich Tone
I put these on an Alvarez electric acoustic tenor and was amazed at the rich tone even without an amplifier. They took about 2-3 days to stretch and stabilize but that is to be expected.

Nice full and bright tone
In general, the Aquila brand is never a bad choice. This "wound" string might overpower the other fluorocarbon or nylon strings on your uke so I think this might not be everyone's choice but it matches my setup nicely. After a few years of learning and playing my uke unplugged and strictly acoustically, I have lately been playing thru an amp and experimenting some with pedals and looking for "my own sound". Currently playing thru a Fender amp and a "Hall of Fame" reverb and experimenting with fluorocarbon strings of varying gauges to better accommodate bending of strings, it is allowing me to merge into more lead guitar styles and techniques. Honestly, I am pleasantly surprised with the sound and possibilities of a plugged in uke. The negatives are that the low "wound" G tends to wear out twice as fast and is also a bit expensive to buy in single string units. Plus, you might begin to notice some small strings noise with a "wound" string. For me though, the new tones and harmonies that I am coaxing out of my other strings, this low "wound" G matches well with the rest of my setup. I will say that the positives outweigh the negatives. Love the tone and I give four out of five stars, would give five stars if the string was more durable or if it could be offered in bulk or with some options for a lesser price.

Putting new Strings on your Ukulele? I suggest Aquila.
I had my G string replaced with a low G string. Someone I trusted at the music store, chose a classical guitar string to replace it. So awful. It reverberated, and hummed with the other strings. SO, having been playing for several years, I bought this string from a trusted company, Aquila. I can put them on myself, no problem, (and should have done that in the first place). The Aquila plays just fine. The other strings on my ukulele are Aquila too. I love this brand, and have great success with them. They last a long time. So you really get the bang for your buck. Last Aquila strings settle in very well. I only had to adjust the tuning a couple of times before it held the note.

The low G string gave my ukulele a complete different sound. It was great.
I love how just the changing of just one string could make a big difference in my ukulele

Good Quality Low G
Another good quality string from Aquila. I found this low g to be quite a bit brighter than my Worth Clear low g that I swapped it for. It is great for strumming. I liked it less for chord melody and finger style. It's a bit squeaky too, with unexpected finger noise. Like I say it's great for strumming if you bit to have a bit more bottom end than a high g gives. Go for it!
