We got this as our toddler who is 20 months will be going into a single bed. She can climb up and down by herself so we just needed something to stop her rolling off the bed at night.This is really easy to assemble and is ready to go in a couple of minutes. Just slot the support under the mattress and it's ready.The mesh is good as it lets light through and lets your little one look out for reassurance. This is a great portable/ travel bed guard.I was hoping it would also be good as a permanent guard to save buying two but its not really study enough for a permanent guard.The mesh does not go very tight, even when fully extended, meaning smaller children particularly could end up slipping between the mattress and the mesh as it almost forms a kind of 'hammock/pocket' as its quite loose. Mostly I just find that all her teddies end up lost in the gap that forms! My little one likes to push up against the guard though so it could be that she has stretched it.Overall though this is great for its intended use which is as a travel-bed guard. It folds down small enough to take most places and fits all beds we have tried so far - divan and slatted.Its easy to use and fit, is suitably stable for occasional use and the frame is well covered so soft enough if you have a child who flails around and is likely to bump it!I would recommend this as a good value travel bed guard.

Easy to use, safe and strong.

Fitted our toddlers cot bed perfect and then their proper single bed as they grew out of cot bed. Well made, can make smaller or larger and great to transport too for holidays. Great buy.

I used to wake up every hour doing ninja moves across the room just to make sure my daughter hadn’t rolled off the bed and started a midnight floor party. Since getting this Safety 1st bed rail, I can finally sleep (well, mom-level sleep) knowing she’s not going anywhere. It’s sturdy, easy to install, and folds down if you need to hop into bed for a snuggle. Total game-changer—now I only wake up 3 times a night instead of 7. Progress! 😆

super easy to set up and compact able for travel

The media could not be loaded. My 3 year old grandson is now in a big bed…much to his excitement. At home he has a single bed with guards so I wanted to make sure he was safe when staying with us. I saw these and thought they would be perfect. I ordered two as the bed is not against a wall. We have a double bed. They arrived safely and felt well put together and strong. The size is nice and compact in its closed position and is folded flat for easy storage. You fold the legs out and pull the ends away from each other to extend it until you hear a click. It was easier to do this with two of us. Now we have a slatted ottoman bed. The guard just sits on the slats with the mattress on top. Our mattress is quite heavy so it holds the guard securely in place. Our mattress is the maximum recommended height but they fit perfectly. A thinner mattress would give you more height in the guard so i would agree that your mattress needs to be 23cm or less. In our case there’s enough height to stop him falling out and once you tuck the quilt down he’s really snug. They feel really strong yet soft so no he won’t hurt himself. I’m glad he’s 3 as I feel a very young child could possibly slip between the mattress and the guard if they were slightly built but that’s not an issue for us. It certainly gives great support for avoiding any rolling out of bed in his sleep. At under £20 at the time of writing this review these are great value for money. They are perfect for his visits and give me peace of mind. I can’t speak to how they would perform using them every night. These are for occasional use in our circumstances so I can recommend them for that. Great for weekends away and holidays. I’m very glad I bought them.
