Electric cowl vent
The media could not be loaded. So far this little guy is working for what I need it to do open and close my cowl vent on my 49 Chevy truck

Strong actuator with lots of uses for projects or replacement
This is a strong linear actuator. Noise level is not anything unordinary or excessive. Good value for a full functional 12 volt powered actuator and switch. If you do not make your own brackets you can purchase premade ones as they are not included.

Truly light duty
The product works flawlessly as far as the in and out. If it gets in a bind the end of the cylinder is the weak point. The bind part was my fault as I was testing it but the plastic end that connects to your application is a hollow piece of plastic that will break as mine did.

works fine for a small project
This little actuator fix perfectly in the small space that I had for it. It is marked as having 150N of force and I have no way to measure that but it worked fine for me. I find the push and pull strength to be fine, but I am not sure if the rod will be able to take forces that could try to bend it. In time I will find out. I only needed it to move about an inch but I may have to get one that can move further than that to get the bending strength for the rod that my application needs.

Weak plastic connection
The first time I used the actuator the plastic connection point on the actuator arm snapped. It is hollow plastic and threaded.

Nice enough linear actuator for the price
The media could not be loaded. I think overall it's a solid value, with a few uses where I think it will do quite well and others maybe not so well. I picked this up for automating a louvered vent and I think this actuator is great for that purpose. The ad mentions metal and aluminum at the ends, but fails to mention the plastic components. Where you see black, it's plastic. Sure there are metal brackets attached, but if you're mentioning the metal portions you should share where it's plastic, ABS, whatever the material might be, else it's going to come across as misleading. The ad also mentions robotics and recliners... ?? There are certainly scenarios where you could use this in robotics, in a more static environment, but don't think you'll get this actuator to use in your battle bot. Lateral forces would destroy it in no time, but compressive forces within reason shouldn't be an issue. Be sure to tighten the plastic on the end of the piston before using it, it'll help to avoid breakage. It's quiet, far below the <50db in the ad. The switch is the only part to consider waterproof, after a decent installation. Its action is pretty stiff, so be sure to mount it on a stable surface. The limit switches work well. The amount of force feels quite accurate. I didn't measure it, but I'd estimate I placed around 20 lbs. with no issue. All in all, it's a great option for opening and closing covers, lids, drawers (if you can work with the 4" throw). 12VDC makes this extremely compatible with many power sources most DIYers have readily available. So, while the ad isn't the best, in general I think most people would find this fitting their needs.
