Organic triphala in a finely milled powder form
Organic triphala.Directions for use, and suggestions for blending it to make it more paleable would have been nice to include...gbis is what I took 1☆ off for... but it makes sense that in buying a bulk amount of a product, one may already be familiar with its use. This is organic Triphala in a finely milled powder form. It comes double bagged and well sealed. It is bitter and does not have a pleasant taste, but that is Triphala for you! The powder dissolves easily in warm or hot water, thankfully! It may be easier to swollow in capsule form, and you can use this powder to make your own capsules, if you like. Or, you can brave it and drink your triphala down in a tea or smoothie concoction, using 1/2 to 1 tsp of this powder (or whatever amount you decide is right for you, based on your reason for taking triphala).Triphala is said to be a natural detoxifier, colon cleanser, and immune booster. I think it is too pungent to drink as a tea without adding something to it. After seeing a comment in a review, I tried adding Agave liquid to triphala in warm water, and it went down MUCH easier. Though the taste isn't great, I can't fault the brand or Triphala for this being as it is or my being wimpy about downing something that is not so yummy, because this IS what I ordered -Organic Triphala! And that is what I got!

Good for health
This is organic Triphala in finely milled powder form, double-bagged and well-sealed. It's bitter and doesn't taste pleasant, but it dissolves easily in warm or hot water. While directions and blending suggestions would have been helpful, it's understandable for a bulk product. You can use the powder to make capsules or mix it into tea or smoothies, using 1/2 to 1 tsp. Adding agave to the mixture makes it more palatable. Triphala is a natural detoxifier, colon cleanser, and immune booster. Despite the taste, the product meets expectations as organic Triphala.

Organic Triphala Powder
This is a great product from traditional Indian tradition. With my educated guess, it is a mix of powders from three component that have a lot of antioxidants. It should help me to lose weight. It is just a challenge of how to use it. Before adding water, the powder smells like matcha, a plant based food. By just adding water, it is sour and bitter. I have to add sugar and milk to make it mild to swallow. I am open for more ways of usage.

The taste
The taste is just really hard to get over. It may be organic and high quality stuff, but I tried to blend it, add honey, add lemon, nothing worked.

Bitter health
This Ayurvedic Triphala powder comes from India, double packaged in mylar. There I learned much about Ayurveda and underwent weeks of Ayurvedic treatments as well. So I have high hopes for this detoxifying formula. Spring is a good time for a cleanse and immunity boost, the Triphala is much more than an intestinal cleanser. The ancient science of Ayurveda lies behind finding your body's “constitution” or dosha and this formula is said to work for all three, balancing vata, kapha or pitta. The first time the flavor made me nauseous. Medicines seldom taste good, I've downed and smeared the bitterest of concoctions mixed by Chinese sinseh and Malay medicine men-with amazing results. But still my first reaction was that no amount of honey or promises of better health will make me drink this voluntarily. However I will not give up. Why? Because the reaction I had is probably that I'm toxic. And the curious thing is that over time your tastebuds/ body will learn to tolerate the flavor which will change for you, so I'm just making the tea with small amounts to customize my tastebuds. This will get easier over time and takes a bigger commitment. But we do not get in the shape we are at this moment overnight. There are no clear directions on how to use this. The best way is to take it as a tea by steeping max 1/2 tsp powder for several hours or overnight-or day- depending when you can drink it on an empty stomach. Strain it well (like cheesecloth), I like a teaspoon of honey to help the medicine go down- but it's still not for the faint of heart.
