This is Tasty Stuff
You've really got to follow the instruction for brewing. I like to prepare this in a French press, but you need to let it steep for longer than you would coffee. The flavor is like hot chocolate, but more adult. That is to say, it isn't sweet at all, obviously. But if you love chocolate, you may find yourself enjoying this unsweetened. I do not drink coffee, but a cup of this without milk or sugar tastes a little bit like coffee to me, but in a good way, ironically since I don't care for coffee. It also gives me a bit of a wake-up buzz, though it's not caffeinated. Chocolate contains theobromine, which is chemically similar to caffeine, which often makes me feel jittery or anxious. This doesn't do that. It's makes a comforting brew, especially blended with some milk.

Delicious flavor with a smooth butterscotch finish
This was my first time trying this particular flavor, and the subtle butterscotch notes were a pleasant surprise. It tastes great on its own or with a bit of sweetener, milk, or cream. I also love making it because it smells amazing while it brews—it fills the whole house with a warm, comforting aroma. The resealable packaging is a great bonus and keeps it fresh between uses.

The perfect mug of hot cocoa - for adults!
They say coffee and tea is an acquired taste but I've never managed to acquire it in over 50 years, so hot cocoa is my only hot drink option. It also comes with a butload of sugar and like a lot of people, I curt dorn drastically on the amouint of sugar I consume. Crossing my fingers this would be a good alternative (and after a couple of trials) devised the best Hot Cocoa recipe wiht less than 5g net carbs! I brew 4 tbsp and add a splash of zero sugar creamer and a squirt of zero sugar Hershey's syrup to really pump up that chocolate flavor and boom! The perfect morning cuppa! A great way to start the day, give it a try.

OMG! Chocolate for Breakfast
I love coffee, but coffee does not love me back. I also cannot have caffeine, so it makes it hard for me in the mornings to find the get up and go. I saw ads for Crio Bru and decided to take a chance. Now, my favorite coffee flavor is Highland Crogg, so when I saw that Crio Bru also has a Highland Crogg, I had to try it. I am so glad that I did! The butterscotch flavor coupled with the cacao is AMAZING! The added benefit it that it really gave me a pick me up, just like caffeine used to. I love the flavor of this product...it's like a delicious hot chocolate for adults!

BUY DIRECT, Amazing Item But BAD Shipping Here
First off, this flavor is the best they have. Sadly, several listings claim that it contains nuts when it's actually a Chocolate and Butterscotch and Irish Cream flavor that is safe even for me, with my allergies. They'd probably sell more without those mistaken listings from their original recipe from years ago. But we love this, so we finally decided to buy the three-pound bag of it here at Amazon, since they had a good deal on it, and then we found out why it's not a bestseller in the three-pound size. You see, the three-pound bag is too heavy to be shipped in a box containing other items, but Amazon often ships items together. The little bags ship in a bubble mailer, by themselves amazingly enough, and they're usually fine, although one was crushed and popped a while back. But the three-pound size is really heavy and it basically thrashes around in a larger box until it's punctured itself on whatever sharp object happens to be contained in that box.In our case, it crushed some chips (and why anyone would ship chips with a three-pound bag like this is beyond me, but at least it was only two little bags out of twelve, and we can still eat them) and then partially crushed a smaller box while somehow also puncturing itself on a sharp-cornered box inside the larger shipping box. We ended up with chocolate all over, panicking to clean in order to protect our dogs (since chocolate is often fatal for dogs, even in small quantities), and then taking photos to send to Amazon to get them to ship out a replacement.Given what just happened with our big exciting "buying the three-pound bag" fiasco, I have to say that Amazon is amazing for the 10-ounce size, and maybe the 24-ounce (although one we received was popped a while back, which we still used since it was clearly popped in transit in a tiny mailer so we figured it was safe), but the three-pound (48-ounce) bag of this is really far too heavy to be shipped unless it's shipped alone and in a bubble mailer or box all by itself in order to prevent damage to other items or to the bag itself. We had two three-pound bags on order, a Highlander Grogg and a Double Chocolate, and both managed to do damage to other items while also getting damaged themselves. While this is one of my favorite products on the market right now, I have to advise ordering the three-pound bag direct from the vendor, via their website, to avoid damage to the huge bag or damage to other items being shipped in the same box as that huge bag of roasted cacao. It's rather disappointing to have to immediately reorder a 10-ounce container to tide us over until we receive the emergency order we're placing from the company's website, since it's so much more expensive to buy that small bag, but it's my own fault for not having thought about how much damage a three-pound bag could do if packed in a box with other boxes. This one was in a box with other boxes, one of which had very sharp corners, and the other was in a box where they dropped this little metal thing, so it was a complete disaster. So, what did we learn in our family today? We're definitely buying these again, but we're buying the larger size direct from the vendor, to protect the products so that we can actually use these instead of having to toss them out due to being unsafe and contaminated. These are amazing products, especially the Highlander Grogg and Double Chocolate, but they require special handling when they're this large and heavy, such as being shipped alone in a bubble mailer to protect them from puncture. Lesson learned, and we're still trying to get replacements or refunds on those, so it's doubly learned.

Not Good!!!
This taste just like coffee, which I totally destest!!! If you like coffee, this is for you!! If you're wanting a hot beverage that taste good and not taste like coffee, do yourself a favor and skip over this item. When brewing a large pot, you have to triple the ampunt of what you need for coffee or loose tea. Way to costly fpr the amount.

Smells wonderful I add to my other cacaos
I love the aroma. I tried by itself as my brewed cacao. I wasn't as thrilled with it. Then I started adding a table spoon or so to my regular cacao, and it has become a favorite of mine using it as an addition. I also sent to my brother to use with his decaf coffee. He said it intensifies the flavor and adds to the aroma.I've ordered several bags of the Highlander Grog over the past few months. I like it as an addition to my regular cacao when brewing in my french press.

Much better
My husband stopped drinking coffee after having what felt like minor panic attacks. However he still wanted to warm drink in the mornings like coffee. He found this product and hasn’t looked back. There are a variety of flavors and he likes them all. This is a great alternative to coffee without the effects.
