Hosa quality!

Excellent breakout cables, I’m using them to split the inputs on my Korg NTS-2 oscilloscope and for that they work great!

Easiest way to plug two mics into one camera

Bought this to connect two 3.5mm TRS microphones at once to my GoPro and DSLR, a lapel mic for my voice and a shotgun mic for front facing sound. This cable lets you record each mic to one channel of the stereo soundtrack, meaning you can separate them in post and work with two mono audio tracks. Works perfectly for this.

Works with EDJing app

I bought this specifically to use with EDJing allowing me to precue. It's lasted years and hasn't failed me yet.HoweverI haven't been able to split the sound so that both outputs get stereo sound or even left and right mono, so when using it to DJ I use an Aux Cable into my PA rather that a stereo cable (you know the one with Red and White ends)

Great help to record two different mics and have their sound separated

This little wire is a great help for the amateur videomaker, and even for the pro that is in need to record two different mics on the same input. With the great help of splitting the two mics in the two different audio side (left and right) you are able to record two mics and have their sound separated, saving you lots of time in post production and allowing you to chose which mic you want to use for that specific part of the video, whilst still having another track recorded from the other mic for other part of the video. For example, you can record an interview, with two lavalier (clip on) microphones, and have both microphones recorded on the same track, just one will be left, the other will be right, in this way, when you are working in post production, you don't need to level the volume based on "who" is talking, but you just need to chose the track that was from the mic the person was talking into, and if you are recording using the same camera, it's then easy to merge video and audio without too much work.Lots of time saved in post production, wide range of possibilities that help you with great sound from recording two separate mics at the same time.

Worked well but died

Used it three times and all was well, splitting two lav mics into a Panasonic 4K camcorder. Came to use it today and the red TRS side is dead. Quality control issue I'm sure. Cheaply made stuff will suffer so you pay your money, you take your chance.

Worked exactly as it needed to

I bought this because I was lazy and didn't want to look through a hundred boxes in the garage to find one I'd already bought. I used it to plug my wireless headphones (RCA) into my TV's audio output (3.5mm) The price was right and I knew that it was what I needed, so I bought it. It arrived and it worked perfectly.

Hosa YMM-261 3.5 mm TRS to Dual 3.5 mm - Solid Build - Performs Flawlessly

I was looking for a well-built stereo channel splitter/breakout cable to a pair of Minirig-3 speakers to a Minirig subwoofer. I connect the output from my stereo receiver to the subwoofer and then I use the Hosa breakout cable to connect a the two Minirig-3 speakers to the subwoofer to create a 2.1 stereo setup. Although the Minirig-3's are Bluetooth capable, I prefer the sound quality and reliability of a hardwire connection. Despite its price, the Hosa YMM-261 is probably the best choice available when it comes to 3.5mm left/right stereo separation. It's solidly built and will probably never require replacement. Furthermore, this short 12cm long adapter cable allows you to split the stereo signal right at the source and then use YOUR preferred/ideal choice of cable length to connect the left signal (aka Tip) and connect the right signal (aka Ring) to your speakers. The Hosa YMM-261 also properly adheres to the mnemonic Ring-Red-Right, so you can easily identify the right stereo channel by the red colour of the connector.

To add two Microphones to a Zoom H5 recorder - top!

The idea was for field recording to use left and right channels of the Zoom H5 recorder together with two lavalier microphones (e.g. Clippies or AOM 5024) with TRS 3.5 mm jacks. It works and now I can record in stereo with the jack input on the Zoom H5. (schould also work for other field recorders such as H1 etc)Recommended!
