Awesome but don’t get too aggressive
This foot rasp is awesome! Just don’t get too carried away lest you end up tender tootsies! It works best on dry feet. The “teeth” are more effective at grabbing onto my calluses when skin is dry. Soaking my feet first makes them too soft, and the rasp doesn’t work as well.I file my feet in the shower before turning on the water, then follow up with a pumice stone during my shower. The rasp does a great job of removing the bulk, but it leaves my feet feeling a bit rough. That’s where the pumice stone comes in, smoothing everything out nicely. Think of it like using sandpaper—you start with the coarse grit to remove the bulk efficiently, then fine grit for a smooth finish.

Finally! They Should Call It Hoof-Be-Gone
This thing is awesome! I've been battling with my dry, cracked, thick heels for over 8 years, largely due to where live (dry, high altitude, and really, really hard well water). Even though we're moving soon, I really wanted to get things under control. Some recent methods work and others help a little (i.e. a new, beaded negative ion shower head and/or Callus Eliminator), but the results haven't lasted long enough or do enough to make it worth the while, or I have to do things more often and with greater effort than my lazy, little mind would prefer. Even the methods that do work don't always get the job done 100% without me spending ages, if not a few days, working at it. In words or less: I've felt like a slave to my own feet.I've heard of microplanes and even tried a chincy one that was attached to another product, which did absolutely nothing for me. I'd heard too many mixed reviews on the egg-styled ones, and ones like this product just freaked me out, and I either figured they'd wreck my feet, would cut me, wouldn't work, or would put gouges in my skin and make things worse. However, I finally broke down and bought one to work with a liquid exfoliate I'd been using, since I needed a new file anyway and recently watched a professional using one on YouTube.I initially just wanted to try the file after it was delivered to see how it worked on dry skin, figuring I'd do a pedicure later, but I was extremely skeptical. Ten minutes later, thanks to me being meticulous and tentative, my feet literally looked brand new. No cracks, no dry patches--nothing but soft, pink, pliable and normnal-looking feet. Say wha?! I didn't even use a buffer or do the pedicure treatment (buffer might be needed in some cases). Score...I seriously felt a mixture of wanting to kick myself for not trying these things sooner and wasting all that time, money and effort on other products, and then wanting to laugh at my being such a wuss over nothing yet feeling ecstatic over the results and speed of the microplane. Not only is this faster and more effective than most methods I've tried (peel booties, liquid softeners, shavers, pumice stones AmLactin, regular files, electric files, home remedies), but there was no soaking, no waiting, no week's worth of shedding like a decrepit reptile, or hardly any effort needed (I hardly used any pressure). It's also much safer and gentler than other products I've used, and I appreciate lessened trauma/friction to my skin, which usually results in more calluses. The other thing I like about this product was the shape and size. Okay, the size initially freaked me out and I thought it was a bit overkill, but it just made the process faster and it also worked well on the arches. The only thing I'd love to see added would be a guard to control messes and a slightly softer handle, but those are minor issues. As others have stated: don't go crazy if you're new to these. They're much safer, gentler and easier to use than a shaver, or even a peel, but they're still very effective you can still take too much off if you're not careful. I did that in one area as I started to get excited about the results, and it's a little bit tender at the moment. Defo use a towel or tub/shower and a good moisturizer or oil after.I'm very happy, and I'm sure I'll get excited the next time I do yoga, which is when I usually scowl at my feet the most. That, and during shoe shopping. Definitely recommend.

MADE IN USA, & works GREAT! But BE CAREFUL!
First of all, credit where credit is due, I discovered this while watching videos by a couple of physical therapists, Bob & Tom, on youtube. They gave it high praise. (I recommend Bob & Tom as well!)This thing works GREAT! Bought this for a callus which was causing me pain, & I'm so glad I did! It will definitely remove calluses & dead skin REAL QUICK! But BE CAREFUL! As Bob & Tom mentioned, it will eat into your hide real quick! I used it several times before accidentally getting a little carried away with it, & cut into the meat before I realized it!Ergonomic, comfy in hand, easy to use, & it cuts in both directions (see my final close-up)! Big bonus is the fact that it's MADE IN USA, which is always a BIG plus for me!5 STARS ALL THE WAY! :-)

Sweet baby Jesus, this thing is like a rabid shark for your disgusting, horned man feet.
I am 40. I am male. I trim my toenails when they punch through my socks or my wife complains that I'm shredding the sheets. I have never removed a callus. I didn't even know what calluses were until mine got to the point that I could hardly walk from the pain of having quarter inch stalagmites of dead skin driving into my feet. I lost a bet with my wife and had to go get a pedicure, which was a total waste of 50 bucks getting a slimy foot rub from a high school dropout that looked like she was going to barf. So after that little gem of an experience I shopped around a bit and bought this bad boy, as per the Tribe of Amazon's reviews. In Amazon we trust.First of all let's get the griping over with: this should be jet black with a skull-and-crossbones, not chocolate brown. Power tools should all be black. A death motif is always a plus. This sucker should come with hardware for mounting it in your garage, or better yet a black holster you can strap to your leg. Because it's far more dangerous than any pistol. Han Solo could outshoot Greedo with this thing.Like all men, I tossed the instructions in the trash, whipped off my socks, and started filing away. The first thing I noticed was that a) it didn't hurt, and b) I was grinding off an unbelievable amount of dead skin. Because it didn't hurt I decided it was defective and started furiously sawing back and forth. Grind, grind, grind, and now skin was flying like dust from a bandsaw. That was more like it. After about 30 minutes on each foot I had the kind of beautiful, pink baby feet that fetishists dream about. Chucked the meat dust into the garbage, took a shower, and thought nothing of it as I went to bed.I'm pretty sure the next morning I awoke to the shrill from the smoke alarm going off. Did you know your feet can spontaneously combust? My beautiful pink piggies looked like denuded Vienna sausages. My heels were blood red and inflamed. I could hardly make it to the first aid kit. I wound up slathering about a gallon of Vaseline on each, wishing I had BP around to dump an oil spill on me. Through sheer manly perseverance (read: screaming profanity and crying like a wee girl) I was able to get socks and shoes on, despite my wife's humiliating laughter. I spent two crippling days hobbled to my desk at work and trying to walk as little as possible. Mornings and evenings meant more Vaseline and trips to the grocery store for econo vats of the stuff. By the way, standing in the express checkout with a pained expression while buying huge containers of Vaseline and a baguette your wife asked you to pick up is a great way to strike up a conversation with folks. Made some good friends, yes sir.TL;DR: this thing works. It's like a chainsaw for your feet. Just shave a little off at a time, and do it over the course of a few nights and not one sitting.

Effective
I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these. It works really well and keeps my feet smooth when rough, dry patches appear.

Thisss is what you want to buy!
I've been struggling with dead skin on my heels for years and THIS took away everything in literally one use. I've used many products and have been getting professional pedicures regularly but my feet were never "clean" and "dead skin free". It even filed down a corn I've been struggling with for a long while. Zero effort, zero soaking needed, great results! I hope its durable.TLDR: After coming out of the shower, I texted my best friend, "I found the world's best pedicure rasp, my feet feel like a baby's bum"
