Good buy
I brought this to replace an old canon ink jet printer which broke and was eating ink cartridges. This warms up fast and prints just as quick. It well supported as it receives firmware and software updated often. A good printer for home or smallish office use.

Excellent double-sided A4 colour laser printer with scanner / photocopy
This is an excellent colour laser printer. Unlike many other brands, it accepts third-party toner cartridges, even after updating the firmware to the latest v1.2 in Feb 2025 (I used TONTINA TN248 black without problems). Printing is crisp and clear, deep blacks and colours. It prints double-sided and also easily accepts sheets of labels or lightweight card. The manual feed slot is easy to use. It also has an instant photocopy function (B&W or colour) and can scan to your PC or a network location. I like the fact that it does not have a multi-sheet feeder for the scanner, an option I never use, which cuts down on bulk. It is still big and heavy, but I've seen bigger; build quality is robust. Criticisms: Speed is okay but not impressively fast. Configuring scan-to-PC or scan-to-network is fiddly and there is no scan-to-USB option. Highly recommended.

Superb printer - and affordable considering the technology
This is a truly amazing printer, and considering the technology that lies within it, it really is quite remarkable value. The replacement toner cartridges however are less remarable, being horrendously expensive, but even they are technological marvels. To slightly offset the eye watering cost of these consumables, the printer arrived complete with all four cartriges, brand new (protective packing had to be removed from each one individually before use) and therefore not partially filled (according to the on board display, one function of which is to inform on the condition of the cartridges). This of course is the trick otherwise performed by many printer manufactureres, who provide cartridges with only a small amount of toner present.(It's interesting to note that take away the cost of a set of new replacement cartridges - which is what this purcase essentially was, then the printer itself costs no more than a good inkjet printer!).On receipt I immediately made the printer work, and really work. I prepared a two page document complete with a dozen small colour photographs and a lot of text. I sent it to the printer as a two-sided document. There was admittedly a pause whilst the printer formatted all the images, but within seconds the page emerged.(With a duplex print, it is amusing to watch the page start to emerge into the output 'shelf', then pause and withdraw again into the innards while it flips the page to do the second side. For all the world as if the printer suddenly remembered it hadn't finished!).The output is good, really good. Text is pin sharp and colour images of any sort clear and vibrant (dependant on the quality of the originals).Whilst tempted to simply initially 'cable up' the printer to my PC, I elected to go the whole hog and attempted to wirelessly network the two devices. It couldn't have been easier - once I'd worked out how to manage the keypresses on the display panel (Hint, keep pressing!).I have not used the scanner yet, so cannot comment. Similarly the fax facility, but it's unlikely I will ever use that. So, a purchase I couldn't be more pleased with and a genuinely excellent printer to boot. The one thing I don't care for is the placement of the control panel, it looks as if it simply waiting to be bashed. I do however accept it is a difficult thing to design into the otherwise sleek lines of the 'box'.One word of warning; in its box, the machine weighs a ton! A staggering 18.6kg! Enough to test the patience of even the most obliging Amazon driver!

compact colour laser woirks great at home
A couple of months since purchased have past. Unit was easy to setup once you get all the packaging and tape removed. Inserting tomers also without any issue. It connects to my Apple based network without issue and printing is easy. Quality if exactly what i needed and this has so far had about 100 pages printed and all look great. Very happy as a previous Brother printer owner to move at home to a Colour Laser instead of Inkjet. If you print infrequantly like I do and were frustrated at inkjet drying out etc, this is your best option in my opinion.

Excellent
My first observation was that the printer has a look and feel of being solidly built. I used a USB lead to print a test page. It looked like the picture on my laptop screen, which is a great improvement on my old printer (not Brother), which always produced much darker colours than on the screen. I then tried to join my network on WiFi which worked within a couple of seconds when I entered the right password!! My Linux Mint laptop found the printer in the print menu with no problems. I did a double sided (duplex) print over WiFi, and it worked. I then did a scan over WiFi and that worked. I then moved to my Windows 10 laptop, which required me to go into the Control Panel and tell it to find the new printer. I then printed some photos from Windows, and found them very acceptable. I have given 5 stars because of the ease of setup and the appearance of the printing.

Works with Fedora Linux 41 and Linux Mint 22
A really nice printer and easy to set up. I was a little concerned as I only run Linux (Fedora 41 and Mint 22) however, once I had allocated a static ip for the printer from my router (not essential but makes troubleshooting easier) Mint and Fedora both found the printer in the "Network Printer List" and I could print a Test Page. I can also print from Android devices via the app. There is an option to connect via a USB lead (which is not supplied) however I dont know why you would do this as there is also a wired network port on the back. The driver for USB printing is on the Brother website with deb and rpm versions available including a guide. All in all a great Linux printing experience .
