Exact replacement
Had to replace the power jack in my laptop and this was a perfect fit.

Not quite right but works
This replacement power jack for an ASUS K501U is not quite the same as the original, but it can work with some slight modification. As highlighted by other reviewer's, it is most definitely different. The replacement jack has an added ground pin beside the original. The depth of them aligns the jack incorrectly, thus not allowing the case to close. If you take side cutters and remove the added on pin's (both sides), this puts the jack almost in the factory position. The height difference is still about 0.01. Simply take a file and carefully machine down the other set of pins. After those two modifications, the jack fits right in and can be then soldered to the board.

This part does NOT fit the listed models, and does NOT match the image.
I ordered a DC jack for an Asus K501U, which does match the picture listed on the item.However, twice now they have sent me a DC jack that is different from the one pictured, and does not fit the laptop.In the picture, the one on the left is the original. You can see how it matches the image they provide on the listing.The one on the right is what they sent me, both times.Please note the lower ground arms on the side, the additional stabilizing fins, and the added thickness at the rear.This part will fit into the holes from the OEM plug, it will solder into place, it will even allow for charging, BUT the case of the device will not close once this is installed.

Should have listened to the other reviewer - doesn't fit the K501U
I can confirm what the other reviewer said. While this jack is very similar, it is NOT the same jack as shown in the photo, and will not fit laptops like the K501U properly. Same as the other reviewer I received a jack where the grounding pins that stick out the side are too low, which would make the jack too high. Glad I knew to look for this before I installed it. Was hoping it was just a fluke with the other reviewer, but he is absolutely correct. Don't waste your time with this jack on the ASUS K501U

Great price and fast shipping
Was a pain to remove the old one (soldering) but new one dropped right in, fit and works well. Laptop up and running again, very happy.
