The other brand lacked the viscosity and seemed watered down in consistency and effect. However, Aloe Pura may not be for everybody as it can be a little intense on sensitive skin. I find it to be quite warming and it causes reddening of the skin, as has been noted by several other reviewers. I find if I use it several days in succession, it does cause drying of the skin.
