A - Awesome
Over the past year, we paid for tutoring services to bring her on grade level. Although she made vast improvements, her math grade was just below passing and she has summer school. I am using this book for the summer to get her ready for the next grade.

Easy colorful broad
It looks easy, and is very colorful, which my child enjoys. It covers a wide range of areas. I mainly got it so my kid didn't have to focus on the screen too much, and so I can quickly flip to necessary topics, then reference the codes back into the ixl website. I love that it has word problems spread out too.My only criticism is that it looks TOO easy overall. But, since this is just a side workbook, not a main curriculum, it works. I can just assign a few pages for practice as needed, or say "do a few pages starting from the beginning for 15 minutes" as a time waster before the next task (or a few minutes of quiet). To counter the easy stuff, there are several pages with just problems on them, so it's not too quickly done. The student has to take their time and work through them. I love that.

Highly Recommended
My girlfriend's son has been struggling with math for the past few years despite being a bright child. Part of the blame for this is due to the ineffective remote instruction he received during Covid. Another part of the blame is due to the ridiculous methods of problem solving pushed by Common Core. The final fault lay with him not taking things seriously. After deciding to take matters into my own hands, I looked online for good review materials. I settled on "The Ultimate Math Workbook" series and ordered Grades 4-8 in anticipation of his enrollment in 8th Grade in August. I couldn't be happier with that decision. The problem-solving methods used are simple and straightforward with at least some effort devoted to helping the student develop an intuitive feel for the material. As of this writing, we have plowed through Grades 4-6 in 2 weeks in a Math Boot Camp style. In this way, he is seeing much more of the big picture than by studying only 1 hour per day. He's not thanking me yet, but next year in school, his math class will be like a review for him. Long story short, if your child is struggling with math, these workbooks are the tool you need to turn things around.

IXL for the Win
My child learns best via repetitive activities. We have tried a variety of books to help with math and my child would lose interest quickly. Then we started to use the IXL app for Math. At times, my child would complain that she did not want to use it during the weekdays. So, I got the book and she has been using it to supplement the work she has at school (since they do not give homework). I simply find out what they are working on in school and open the page to the section. This has helped to boost her confidence and serves as a resource when she is working problems on the app on the weekends. Will buy again. Happy customer!

Outstanding Summer Math Review
I bought this book for my daughter who is going into 4th grade. I felt she needed a little extra work in math at the end of 3rd grade. I found this book to be an outstanding review, covering most of what she learned in 3rd grade and preparing her for fourth grade. Everything was covered: multiplication, long division, fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, reducing to simplest form, etc), perimeter, area, angles, word problems to reinforce, etc. I had her do 2-3 pages each day during the summer, and she is 20 pages short of finishing the book at the start of fourth grade. Her skills are immensely better than they were at the beginning of the summer. This books gives so many practice problems that she practically has her multiplication tables memorized. She gets the relationship between division and multiplication. I can confidently say she understands fractions. At the start of the summer she was not close to that level.I do think it is helpful to have a parent present at the start of each new concept to reinforce the book’s teaching of the material. The book does a descent job of explaining, but my daughter always needed more help to “get it”. Once she “got” the concept, there are dozens of problems in each section to reinforce their learning and mastery of the concept. Overall I couldn’t be happier with this book, and we will definitely be purchasing the next grade math book to supplement her normal course work during the year.
