WOODRIVER Project Kit - Antique Hand Crank Pepper Grinder Mechanism

This Pepper Grinder is a work of art, and it's as functional as it is beautiful.I first saw this at a craft fair, where an artist had created many different wood blocks and mounted this pepper grinder on top, and sold them for $40-$50+. I really wanted to buy it, but couldn't justify the expense. When I stumbled upon this on Amazon, I couldn't believe the price! I bought it instantly, and then simply went into the woods behind my house and cut a tree that was already laying on the ground (but not rotten), hollowed out the piece of tree, and it's currently drying.I was afraid that the small chamber wouldn't hold enough peppercorns, and would need to be re-filled often, but that hasn't been the case for me.

This little grinder sure adds a touch of nostalgia to a country kitchen ! It is very well constructed of metal and wood and it really grinds the peppercorns as advertised !! We truly love having it on the the kitchen counter and have already received compliments on it. A quality product !! David and Nellie

I bought it because on the last one the bolts kept falling off and I lost one of the nuts. So now I have a spare. The coarseness adjustment screw keeps changing too. I wish they made a better product, I would have paid more for quality.

A little tricky screwing the two mounting screws into the wood handle. They look good but not sure how functional they are long term.

For anyone looking for an outside the box pepper grinder - here it is! It works great and is just as awesome in person as it looks in the picture. It is nicely made and comes with very simple instructions on how to make the base for it! Very pleased!

These little pepper grinders work great. The knob on top allows the user to adjust the grind from flakes to powder. The action on the wheels works smooth. I made several of these, two for a friend, plus the remainder I am saving for gifts.

When one first sees this little grinder it generates a bit of excitement because it is so cute because of it's size. In actual use however it does not produce the results one would expect from a Pepper Grinder. This Pepper Mill is more of a Toy Replica of an old time mill that was used in days gone by to produce ground pepper for distribution to the mass population that was sold in grocery stores at the time. It does grind pepper, BUT is not intended for use as a serious pepper mill . We all have our choices, this is not one of my choices for a pepper mill to be used on a daily basis .
