Fits like a glove. Packs easily when you travel.
The GLi Opal router is well designed and deserved a well designed carry case. This one fills the bill.If you drop the packaged unit from three feet to the floor there should be no damage, There is padding between the outer skin and the interior. The zipper does not snag. The finish is neat and clean with no stitching sticking out where is should not. There is ample space for the entire Opal unit but there are also elasticized hold downs to keep the cargo handlers from damaging the unit during travel. There will be a few square inches left for other small items to fit around the unit. It is almost a cube and will fit in luggage easily. You could easily pack it in a carry-on bag and use it in the airport as a VPN. Use it in McDonalds when you eat or anywhere there is public WiFi. At the hotel plug into the hotel WiFi and use the VPN there. When you get home you can put the router back into use as a range extender or use for other tasks. Since the GLi Opal is portable use it when you travel then return it to its original job as a house network device. Why buy two routers when you don't need two?

Perfect travel router case
Perfect computer cord case is an essential tool for anyone who frequently travels with electronics or just wants to keep their workspace tidy. It contains two compartments with enough space for the mini router and the cords required to connect to computer or wifi. It has a hard case to protect what is inside with breathable material. Great case for the value.

It's a great travel router, with some minor drawbacks
This router allows you to load additional programs to modify operation, but what I really wanted was a range extender, VPN, and music/movie streamer. You can put an SSD hard disk or USB stick and a micro SD card into it for those times when the bandwidth is too low for streaming. (You can also share files with a bit of work.) For those needs, this works beautifully! It's also very compact and still offers enough ports for my needs. This is my 3rd GLi travel router and I really love the size and signal quality of their units. I travel with multiple devices that need a WiFi signal, so I use these for two things. First, I use them for a VPN, so all of my activity is encrypted through the (often open) hotel/campsite WiFi. Second, it's really nice to have to set up just one device instead of a bunch - I set up this router and my tablet, laptop, and other units connect automatically to the travel router. The hardware is rock solid and the only reason I've upgraded is that the WiFi standards or my needs change. The old ones still work but are no longer supported and don't get security updates.Initial setup is directed through the unit's web server and fairly straightforward. You have to dig through a few levels to get some of the items (like DLNA streaming) running, but it's just a click to turn on. I did run into trouble using WiFi to set it up (the router kept resetting WiFi because I was using WiFi) but setting up with Ethernet was flawless.Getting connected at home was very easy and a bit misleading. Connecting to a hotel logon page with this unit takes a bit more work than ones in the past. Past routers would easily pass through the hotel logon page without a second thought.Unfortunately, this one has a new and better firewall that sees the vast majority of my hotel logon pages as a "man in the middle" or other attack and blocks it so you can't log on. It took quite a while to find this solution buried in the forums - The workaround is to use your phone (or tablet, pc, etc.) to sign on, then have the router duplicate the phone's MAC (you only need to do this once), so the hotel router sees the GLi router as authorized. The Average Joe probably doesn't understand this paragraph and yet a step-by-step help page could easily walk them through this most basic of use. The lack of clear direction within the unit or on support pages takes one star away from User Interface.Another feature I wanted to use was the OpenWRT plugins that allow you to add functionality like ad blocking and more. Unfortunately, this router doesn't have much power or space, so these addons might tax the basic functions, so I'd upgrade to one with more memory and processor power if that's one of your goals. That's not a deal breaker for me and I didn't see a huge difference in performance with AdBlock but now run it with AdBlock on the devices.Tech support takes a bigger ding because their forum replies and help pages are written by techies who don't simplify it enough for someone not intimately familiar with router security. (I am a retired IT support manager who knows a bit about networking security, but choosing the right question or answer was sometimes difficult.) They often leave off key info they believe the user knows - Forcing frustrating waits between forum answers when the basic info should be in a clear help page. They'd reduce forum traffic if they took the time to properly write up common questions as help pages. You can eventually get a good answer, but most of the questions I asked should have been help pages.Don't get me wrong I actually recommend this router for it's major purpose as long s you're aware of the minor glitches. I love the router's design and features. It's super convenient, small, and with the exception of the logon page, works as expected. Movie/music streaming is fantastic and let me stream during a snowstorm that knocked out both cable and WiFi overnight. I just wish the company would hire a good technical writer to post better help pages to help the average person complete simple tasks. I have no idea on hardware support, since none of mine have failed in the years I've used them!

Nice case
Love this little travel case. I bought this along with the berryl router I think is the name which is a nice router, can be a little complicated set up but I figured it out even though I'm not tech savvy. It fits perfectly inside the case. I also bought the Mango router. Which fits inside too however not all the cords fit. But had I not had the Mango router and cords everything that the berryl router came with fits perfectly.
