Excellent speakers
Having had a set of small powered speakers for my PC, I decided it was time to upgrade to something a little larger. Based on reviews, I opted for these and I wasn't disappointed. I use them hooked to a Soundblaster ZE soundcard on a PC running Windows 11.First of all, the sound quality. I'd rate this at five stars; these are probably the best sounding powered speakers I've heard. Not true Hi Fi quality; very few of this type of speakers are, but these are more than good enough. The bass is good and the treble is crisp. There is a stereo amplifier built into the right speaker, which is fitted with bass, treble and volume controls. These are neatly recessed into the side, whilst the cable connections are on the back There are three separate inputs: two analogue, using RCA/phono plugs and an optical input for digital signals. There is also a Bluetooth connection, which I don't use, but it's handy to know it's there if needed. There is also a USB input to access and play digital files directly, if that is what is required.; this is also on the side. A remote control is supplied. Not essential if they are used the way I do, as they are right in front of me, but again, handy to have, and a quick way to mute the sound if needed. It's also required to play back files if used with a usb device, and there are some sound settings that are built in which are accessed via the remote. The remote also has a 'Standby' button, but there is also an on/off switch on the back of the right speaker. The built in stereo amplifier obviously supplies the right speaker directly, with a standard twin speaker cable to serve the left speaker. These speakers are intended to be used as a stereo pair, so they would not be suitable to use as a pair of mono speakers in different rooms (in Sonos style) if anyone is considering that.To sum up, overall performance is excellent and the build quality looks very good. Perhaps the only quibble is there is no balance control, but again, few of this type of speaker have one. It's not an issue for me, but worth noting. For the money, these are good value.

Outstanding Performance in a Compact Design: Azatom M4 Speakers ShineI recently purchased a pair of Azatom M4 bookshelf speakers, and I am beyond impressed. These speakers deliver incredible sound quality while maintaining a sleek and compact design that fits perfectly into any space.Sound Quality: Azatom has nailed the audio balance with these speakers. The highs are crisp and detailed, the mids are rich and full, and the bass is surprisingly powerful for their size and price point. They boom, and bring my home office to life... sorry neighbours.Whether I'm streaming music, watching movies, or gaming, the sound is immersive and vibrant. Every note and nuance comes through beautifully, making for an unforgettable listening experience.Design and Build: The build quality is great for the price point pint. Azatom's attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the sturdy construction to the modern, understated aesthetic. The finish adds a premium touch, and their compact size means they can easily fit on a desk, shelf, or media unit without dominating the space.Bluetooth set up was instant.Final Thoughts: Azatom has truly outdone themselves with these bookshelf speakers.. would def recommend. Excellent VFM / Great Speakers
Delivered within 4 days of purchase (delivered Sunday/holiday weekend). Short version - these speakers are brilliant for the price and you 99% of buyers need not worry about quality. As a bit of an audiophile and having a trained ear (HND in Music Technology) they fire out more than adequate sound for pretty much any average sized room in a house. They aren't absolute top-end studio gear or loaded with gimmicks like Atmos, etc but more than enough to sit in your office/gaming setup or as a budget option in your living room instead of a home cinema system. They arrive in a marked box (no external Amazon box) but very well packaged in soft foam. They are as described and picture above. They are a little darker than Ikea 'Oak' colours and don't quite tie in with the desk or other furniture in my office but not a deal breaker for me. They come with 3.5mm>RCA and RCA>RCA cables included as well as speaker wire for the R>L output from the main (R) speaker. The (R) also has the 19v power input in the back, input selector, Volume, Treble and Bass levels +/-5 on the right side of the speaker. The knobs have a little centre notch which is handy for knowing where you are as you adjust the dials which are out of view from the front. The remote control also has 3 EQ options - movie/music/dialog which are built into the speaker but you can't select these from the speaker itself. I tried the speakers out with a variety of source media - Top Gun (original) intro, Netflix documentaries and series, metal, rap and EDM from both Spotify Free and Amazon Music Unlimited. The clarity of the sound is very good, bass and treble both very defined although you can overshoot a bit at extreme high end of the EQ dials. They are good enough to clearly hear the difference in quality between the free Spotify dulled down bitrate and the Ultra HD bitrate in AMU on the same track. You don't need to tweak a lot from the centre of the dials but a little bit extra bass and treble just adds that little bit extra vibrancy. The only criticisms after a few hours of use is the volume on the first notch up from 0 is a little loud and for use of these as quiet background music it might be a little loud however I just put the system sound down to control the level on a finer scale. When set about 40-60 it was fine. The other is that the Bluetooth is not an output from the speakers, so you have to connect to whatever your source is if you wanted to switch to BT headphones for example. Neither of these is a major issue for me though. Overall, a great update from old 2.1 Logitech speakers - much better sound and well worth the 80 quid.
