My LFL review for the album with a retro sensibility and futurist flare!! IYKYK!!
This is just one of my favorite albums of all time, dare I say, the best Pop Album? The cd came a month early and was like new!! So i've decided to make a sorta "track by track" review!!Love – A soft, nostalgic opener that perfectly sets the tone. The dreamy production and heartfelt lyrics capture the innocence of youthful romance. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Lust for Life (feat. The Weeknd) – A shimmering duet that feels both euphoric and bittersweet. The chemistry between Lana and The Weeknd is undeniable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆13 Beaches – A haunting track about fame and isolation, featuring spoken word elements and cinematic instrumentals. The build-up is stunning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Cherry – Sultry and hypnotic, this song showcases Lana’s darker, edgier side with passionate, almost venomous lyrics. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐White Mustang – A short but evocative track about fleeting love. The whistling adds a haunting beauty, but it feels slightly underdeveloped. ⭐⭐⭐☆Summer Bummer (feat. A$AP Rocky & Playboi Carti) – A moody, trap-influenced song that experiments with a more modern sound. It’s a grower but feels out of place at times. ⭐⭐⭐☆Groupie Love (feat. A$AP Rocky) – Dreamy and nostalgic, this song romanticizes the idea of being a starstruck lover. The hazy production is mesmerizing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆In My Feelings – One of Lana’s sassier tracks, filled with attitude and frustration over heartbreak. The beat is hypnotic. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆Coachella – Woodstock in My Mind – A reflection on modern society wrapped in a festival-inspired dream. The lyrics are thought-provoking, but the melody is a bit forgettable. ⭐⭐⭐☆God Bless America – And All the Beautiful Women in It – A patriotic yet mysterious track celebrating female strength. The layered production adds depth. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing – A politically tinged song with a melancholic yet hopeful message. The eerie, chant-like chorus is captivating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (feat. Stevie Nicks) – A gorgeous duet with the legendary Stevie Nicks. Their voices blend surprisingly well, creating a haunting yet hopeful atmosphere. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆Tomorrow Never Came (feat. Sean Ono Lennon) – A stunning, Beatles-esque ballad that feels like a lost classic. The vintage sound is pure magic. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Heroin – One of the most chilling and poetic songs on the album. The slow build and deeply personal lyrics make it unforgettable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Change – A stripped-down piano ballad about transformation and self-acceptance. Beautiful but slightly underwhelming compared to other tracks. ⭐⭐⭐☆Get Free – A perfect closer, marking Lana’s transition from sadness to empowerment. The Radiohead-inspired sound makes it unique. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love Lana Del Rey
Love Lana Del Rey.. have every album. This one has some gems that take me back to what I love about her voice and style. The opener Love is a great track, the tittle track Lust for Life with the Weeknd is one of my favorites, I also really enjoy the Weeknd's music so that's no surprise and their last collab prisoner was great too.13 Beaches is by far my favorite song on the album, it's classic Lana, loved it the first time I heard it and have replayed it more than any other track. White Mustang is also a favorite of mine.. being a Mustang guy/owner myself Lol. I also love In My Feelings.. Cherry is great too, again that style/sound and production are what I love about Lana. Now as a hip hop fan, I enjoyed Summer Bummer but I feel like this song could of been so much better.. Asap Rocky was good, Playboy Carti is trash and honestly the chorus on this song is kind of a let down but I still like the overall sound and the production is great. Groupie Love was also a good collab with Asap Rocky.Pretty much, I loved tracks 1-8.. 9-16 kind of lose me.. Lol. Still though, overall a great album. Also, as a fan of Lana's music, it's nice to see her with that giant smile cheesing on the cover heh.. she looks gorgeous with that smile.

An undoubtedly amazing talent
Each of her albums are relatable but completely different. I love her evolution. from Born to die and ultraviolence... Lust for Life. (I personally enjoyed honeymoon but I understand those who didn't find it that interesting.) She's opened up in recent interviews when she talks about the very real stuff she had going on in her relationships. Each song is entrancing. At first, I didn't like some songs and I was standoffish but now that I have it and just have it on a playlist I became fond of the others too. Some more then others. However, I thought the structure of the album was weak, unlike the very organized born to die and ultraviolence. It lacked personality in my opinion. I think after the harsh born to die / ultraviolence moral criticism, Lana wanted to touch on subjects that she had previously criticized for regardless of the years that went by and the moral growth she developed. However, while trying to make an album to redeem her name, she definitely was misled. She had been developing the album for over a year so I can imagine how many songs she wrote while in the studio that would be more fitting, but in wake of the political crisis and it's effects on hollywood, she felt the need to change her artistic style. Don't get me wrong, I love a happy Lana! I don't want her to be depressed, nor do i want all of her music to be depressing! However, this album feels somewhat superficial but critics are still so harsh on her to this day so I understand why she rerouted the theme.Amazing album regardless!
