RONSEAL 34739 Ronseal Multi-Purpose Wood Filler - White 250g

This is an excellent product

I used this product to fill some holes in my bathrooms skirting board. The white finish is nice but it doesn't match the very standard contract white satin finish on the wood work at my home so results may vary. It's also very expensive relative to other brands but it does set reasonably quickly and it sets very hard which was assuring. I trust the repair will last a long time.

It might seem a little obvious but whilst the product is easy to apply and dries fairly quickly before sanding, I found it was easy to fail to put lid on tight enough to prevent the remaining contents from drying and making it difficult to use the next time. Not sure if it's me or the lid, but I usually tighten these things hard so bot sure the issue here.If this happens the contents go from a smooth paste to graining grit which means the on next use is not so easy to apply the product.I put a damp piece of kitchen roll in the tub before securing after use to help it stay moist for next use.So in short the seal on the tub could better but it does apply well and sands easy enough.

I ordered two of these. One was ok, the other was rock hard and unusable. I had to return it to Amazon. Amazon sent me another two as a replacement. These two were also rock hard. So, three out of four were no good at all and I have had two separate trips to the Post Office to return them. So annoying! In future I'll be getting them from my local ScrewFix instead.

It's OK but it seemed to me as if it needed to be wetter. It was a bit dry and this made it a bit difficult to profile. I bought some general purpose filler later and that was much better. This is quite easy to sand and dries quicky but was not very strong. Easy to knock the edge off when sanding.

My Cockapoo decided to chew the skirting board at the top of the stairs. I sanded it down and applied this with a small pallet knife. Went on easy and sanded down smooth afterwards. Made a neat job of his mess. Can hardly tell he chewed it. It’s in a small tub but I hardly used any although this was a small area. Would highly recommend.

When package arrived unfortunately the wood filler was hard. When I inquired regarding the product a replacement was sent and received within one day. Yes it was unfortunate that the original wood filer was hard, but the speed of a replacement was very impressive......and the filler does a great job, hardens very well and sands to a smooth finish, i would recommend it.
