Low Tension, Amazing Sound

These flat wound strings are my absolute favourite flat wounds I have used. They are so easy to play because of their low string tension and my fingers don't get exhausted at all! In the past I have used rotosound flats and while they sounded great, the higher tension kept me from playing for too long, so these Thomastik flats are a blessing for my fingers.I've strung these onto my jazz bass and I plan to keep them on forever! I can highly recommend these Thomastik flat wound strings.

Best Flatwound Strings

I've gone through them all. Ernie Ball, Rotosounds, LaBella, D'Addario and Fender flatwounds. These are the best strings you could possibly ask for. Perfect feel, tone and overall just brings out the best you could ask on a bass and Flatwounds. Never going back to anything else.

Great sound and feel

If you've looked for a set of flats for a 6-string bass, you already know how hard they are to find. I'd seen plenty of good reviews for these strings when I was looking at a set for my 4-string, and preferring a lower tension feel they sounded like they fitted the bill for me. I'd seen plenty of comments about being 'too low tension', and about how this might affect the B-string, but I can say that from my experience they feel fine!I switched to them from some Elixir strings, and in terms of tension they didn't feel a million miles apart. The B-String in particular feels totally normal, not as loose as some people suggested it might (as a side note, the B also looks massive). For feel, they're amazing! I've used the GHS Precision flats on one of my other basses and I do prefer the feel of these in comparison. Tonally they're on another level too. Across the board, from the B to the C, they're much more balanced, and have a nice richness and warmth while still having that flat wound sound.I had to make a minor setup tweak, but this was just adjusting the height of the saddles slightly. I assume it's due to the neck being fairly stable as standard, but I didn't need to adjust the truss rod at all. From seeing reviews elsewhere, these strings should last a long, long time, so for the price they seem like a great investment too.

Thomastik bass strings

lovely sound and nice to play but the A and E string just a little to long for an ENCORE short scale bass.delivery was super fast

Plays like butta

With these strings my lovely bass guitar plays so easy not expensive for what they are just think of them as an investment

Expensive but worth it.

Flats maybe an acquired taste, yet thomastik infeld hits the mark. Low tension (may require truss rod adjustment in some guitars) makes the bass easier to play. The tonal quality is excellent. Recommended.

Great woody double bass tone, good mid range clarity

Put these on my Warwick fret less thumb bass. Instant transformation to a deep mellow double bass. They feel snappy and light, with a satisfying ‘clack’ when they touch the fingerboard and a nice ‘mwaa’ sound. Needs a little truss rod adjustment. Unlike some strings, they have a good mid range and clarity.

The best flatwounds!

Though expensive these are the 1st choice for many professional bass players. The flexible tension makes for a great tone and easy playability.
