Life saver for my Airmini/F40 combo
This little muffler is a game-changer. I purchased an AirMini to pair it with my favorite Resmed F40 mask. The mask was comfortable to use with the Airsense 11 device but unbearable to use with the AirMini due to the turbine noise. After some google research the Q-lite muffler showed up so here we are after my first night of sleep with the winning equipment, I can say its almost as silent as when using the Airsense 11. I want to share that I also used a universal HME filter for humidification. I am not sure if it also contributed to the noise reduction.

Yes, you can use this with a CPAP Air Mini - but you need more than just this
Can you use this with a CPAP Air Mini - Yes... but... not by itself.I struggled with my Mini because it was like trying to sleep with an F15 idling its engines right next to me and I never could get a wink of sleep. So in a quest to find a solution that was both portable and useful, here is what came up with.First you need to plug into the AirMini. There are plenty of options on Amazon to do this, in the picture you will find one I 3-D printed with a free model that someone put on one of the 3-D sharing sites. Unless you happen to have a 3-D printer, just go with one of the many that you can find on Amazon. The muffler comes with a tube that will attach to both the muffler and the adapter to the Mini. Congratulations you have just connected to the Mini. You are halfway there.Next is the harder part.If you are like me, you want to use the mask that came with the Mini because it has those humidity disks. The problem is that the hose that comes with the mini only attaches to the mini. There is a way around this.Use a GOOD pair of scissors and cut off the factory adapter from your hose.Next, order one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09HV22XHF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1One side of this adapter will connect directly to the muffler. The other side has a type of female thread in it, your hose will 'screw' into this thread and believe it or not will make an airtight and quite secure hold. I was surprised, I thought that it would need some sort of sealant but it works just fine. Now you have your AirMini connected through the muffler and the muffler will knock the sound down quite a bit. Down to nothing.... no, that is too much to ask. From aircraft carrier flight deck to background noise so you can sleep - yes, it will do that. Now if you want to use this on a plane/train/automobile and you don't have an outlet I have a solution for that too.You will need two things:1. an adapter cable to go from the AirMini to a USB-C portand2. a battery with enough juice to power the unit all night long. These are what I am using and they work rather well.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089D4176K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1andhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BV1J88GV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Two tricks you need to know. 1. this adapter has two usb-c ports. You want to use the one closest to the edge, that is the higher capacity port. 2. sequence matters. I think that you need to plug the adapter into the battery first, and then into the AirMini. Do it in the wrong order, you will not break anything but you will get flashing light on the Mini and it will not work until you unplug it and do it again in the right order.Hope this helps.-J

Odor
While the muffler reduced the noise from my hose, it did produce a bad odor. Will try and air out and see what happens. Now after 2 days running the odor has disappeared and I have upgraded my rating.

Fragile construction, but gets the job done well.
Super fragile, but works great at silencing the noise the travel CPAP sends up the tube. These last from a few weeks to a number of months, but they always fail by cracking at the end that they are assembled. Two stars off for low quality construction, plus three stars for working great and coming with the short hose. I keep buying because they work.

Easy install
Every decibel drop helps when running your generator to stop those who are doing without from complaining while you are not. Human nature it seems.

I was surprised at the difference (Nose and Mouth Mask user)
First, if you expect the travel CPAP units to be as quiet as your larger ones at home, give up now and haul your big unit around with you. I have had 3 different units over the years and returned two of them right away. They all are noisier than the larger home-based units.I finally got a MiniAir from Resmed, which has been the best. Unfortunately, to me, it still sounded like a jet plane taking off at night and often was a discouragement to use. I use my Mini when traveling for work, and often, since I am alone, didn't use it due to the noise and I do not sleep as well. With this last trip, I added the Muffler and a Humidity unit. I also got the adaptor for my normal hose and left the travel Resmed mask at home, and used the mask I have attached to my home unit (Perkel). Like magic the system was much more quiet and comfortable. Both the muffler and mask change helped. I highly recommend the muffler for those sensitive to the sound and who use a full mask and not nose pillows.

Works as designed
Surprisingly attenuates the airflow sound to a more acceptable level.
