It does repeat quite clearly,
Delightful little toy, our 5 year old granddaughter takes it everywhere. Entertaining.

A great gift idea
I gave this to my four year old, and they have not stopped playing with it since. They love the fact that the bird can repeat what you say to it. When used it has a cute little bird tweet noise and pretty lights on its 'wing'. Also when not in use, it can sit on a swing and almost looks like a real little bird.
