Was skeptical, but has worked well.
So I was going to go on a deployment, however, I did not want to spend nearly 1k on one of these things and wanted to get 5 G access, hence me buying this refurbished one. I thought, worst case was that I just returned it. It was annoying to set up, had to look up the manual and set it from nrbroadband to broadband, but once I did, I could swap my SIM card from my phone to this and get wifi consistently. Some thingremember mind that the speed relies heavily on your data plan and LOS to cell towers. If your phone can get a good signal, likely this will too. Currently, I have to keep mine near a window, and I consistently reach 100 Mbps. I've used it to download AND play games, even FPS games. This solution is only for non-permanent wifi necessities while you're moving around. For me, I would have had to buy barracks wifi to get internet or refill hotspot data again and again. This is a great solution for that. I would not use this in place of something like Starlink, cabled internet, or even wifi from buildings (unless bad, like where I am writing this.)This works best if you are:Traveling (1 week to a few months)Have a good DataplanNeed a consistent and reliable internetwill be in places with good cell receptionThe device itself was fine, I had no issues with it. Though with these being refurbished, your results may vary.

Not a good product stay away from this.
This product works for a short time, but over heats, drops your devices internet connections regularly, and have little product support. If I had any other options for what I must use this produce for I would choose the Other. I would toss this in the garbage.

Good deal so far.
It works as good as hot spotting my Iphone. But the ATT signal at my house isn't great. I leave mine plugged in all the time, with the battery out. That is the only way I get a strong enough signal to work the way I want. I leave the cover off and have a small cooling fan going on it all the time. I also have an external antenna hooked up to it all the time. If I don't do all of this, it won't work. I also have to check on it every few days because I get spam messages to the phone number that goes to it. If I don't delete the messages or it won't work. When I purchased this, ATT didn't have a wireless router like they do now. That might work better than this, but I paid a lot for this and I am making it work. I have a lake place that has a better ATT signal and it works better out there. When I have a good ATT signal I can have 10 different wifi items hooked up. When the signal is not good, I have to go around and turn off Wifi on a few things, until I get enough signal to run what I want.

Works great.
Bought a refurbished like new unit and received what appears to be a floor model. In excellent condition. I bought the additional antenna to help with reception. After a very lengthy time working with at&t to get it set up (originally could not get it to connect to internet so had to call their tech support) and running correctly (you must buy a separate data plan for this as of 5/2024) I was able to receive 5g signals. This unit will adjust to whatever the best signal is that can be received. We are using it on a seasonal lot in a trailer that sits just on the boundary or 4g and 5g so it shifts between the two. Its about as reliable as you can expect given our location. The closer you are to 5g tower the better speed and reliability you will have.We also find that (as expected) the more devices that connect to it, the more the service degrades.Overall for our location, needs, and expectations it's working about as expected. Wish the service there was a little better but it serves its purpose for the most part.

Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro Model MR6500 is Unlocked Mifi Hotspot
With the MR6500 version you get a fast triband mifi that is capable of connecting to AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon--depending on the sim card you use with it. Not all sims connect to any of the three, so get the sim card which let's you connect to the network you want. I got the Puffin sim card from SpectrumSim which automatically connects to any of the available from those three networks so I can take advantage of this device's capabilities. I use it to connect securely when traveling, and also use it as my car's wifi so the built in navigation system works even though its original sim card reader is no longer supported.

Possibly stolen, not unlocked, and does not work on Verizon
The hotspot was either not unlocked or was stolen, and, despite the description, does not and will not work on Verizon. Total lie in the description and had to return it (after a week of investigation by Verizon) because it could not be used

So far, so incredibly impressed!
Purchased a refurb in "excellent" condition and it is. It's spotless, has all the port covers and the battery charged to 100% without an issue. It also works perfectly. I've since bought a backup new Netgear battery for travel to swap if needed and a couple 30gb 5G sim cards so I don't have to start a new data plan.Totally worth the investment at a massive savings vs the exact same new one.UPDATE:I typed the device 15 digit IMEI number to add a hotspot new account on AT&T and it said there was an "outstanding bill" associated with the device! This doesn't seem to matter if I used a pre-paid sim card though, but what a surprising reality.Refurbished Netgear Nighthawk on Amazon has outstanding AT&T bill associated with it?
