A small triband pocket radio
I bought this small radio because of my childhood fascination with analog radios.Coming to this radio , it's really a compact radio which can be carried easily in pant pockets n it runs on 2 AA cells, no inbuilt rechargeable batteries for this model that is first let down with this radio, cuz nowadays we are mostly dealing with gadgets that comes with rechargeable batteries. It has 2 rotary switches, one for tuning and one for on-off n volume control, there is also one slider switch for band selection. A small retractable antenna for FM and one inbuilt antenna for SW and MW. On FM reception front it works smoothly on FM band 2 compared to FM band 1. As I live in a multi-storied building, inbuilt antenna falls short on reception front, I added a 7.5 m wire to support the FM bands n then I see more stations that inbuilt antenna can't catch. I did managed to tune few stations on MW but no stations on SW band soo far, maybe I need to check the timming for SW broadcast. Overall the built quality is acceptable for the price tag , cuz there are hardly any triband radios easily avilable in this segment and at this price bracket. Its little tricky to tune in FM stations without external antenna in my locality due to the density of buildings around my flat. I don't intend to go on building terrace n open grounds just to listen radio so I will be using my DIY antenna cuz that really creates a lot of difference! Rest it seems okay.Update: it has great reception on SW also , the inbuilt antenna cannot catch anything clearly, you need a wiire antenna and the radio rocks!

Was good when bought, but failed to work after 2 months!!
The Xdata fm radio was really working good in the start with expectantly signal reception of all fm channels in Chennai. Unfortunately it stopped working in 2 months of usage. Not sure how to trouble shoot or place it for repair..

Read before buying: Old Style Radio with Limited Performance:
According to the specifications, this is a four-band radio offering FM1, FM2, AM, and SW bands. FM1 caters to the Indian band. The radio's sensitivity is satisfactory only when the antenna is fully extended; otherwise, many stations may be missed. The FM band is heavily crowded, making tuning difficult until you've become accustomed to using this radio. Even slight adjustments can cause you to skip stations, so considerable practice is required. The SW band is largely ineffective for this radio, as it receives very few stations even with the antenna extended. The AM band performs adequately only for strong stations; otherwise, its performance is lacking. Overall, this radio is average and not as impressive as advertised. Its main advantage is its old-fashioned design, featuring combined on/off and volume control along with dial tuning, without the buttons typical of modern radios. It could be a suitable gift for someone who appreciates vintage-style radios and is content with average reception. Otherwise, it's not recommended for purchase.

XHDATA D 220 RADIO
The media could not be loaded. Pocket Size MW,SW,FM analogue tuning radio. Good looking. Good Sound. Receives local stations. Shortwave reception is best in morning and evening. You have to tune slowly. To improve reception move the radio near to a window or door or find a soft spot in the room. Hooking up a wire antenna will further improve reception. 2 AA size batteries. If you don't get short wave even after this try switching off electrical noise like BLDC fans, digital gadgets etc or getting into outdoors. Now a days number of shortwave stations are few.Overall ,good radio (for the price bracket)..
