A true joy to read!
The title of this review says it all. It's a well written book full of riveting narrative, from the ancient Pythagorean brotherhood to the proof of Fermat's Last theorem, the book chronicles them all brilliantly. It starts of a bit slow, but after introductory chapter, it continues quite smoothly. The book does an excellent job at arousing one's curiosity, and yet remain decently formal, both at the same time. A must buy, even if you're mildly interested in Math.

The Journey of how a problem finally met its demise.
This book is really meticulous and reading the non-mathematical(well the proof part atlest) account of the greatest proof of this century was rewarding. The book can be taken as a continous read and certainly is the best account of any work i have read.

Mesmerizing journey into mathematics world ...
The book captivates you. I read it in small chunks, digesting what was mentioned slowly but surely and reach the end just like a climax in a movie. The details about personal lives of mathematicians is also fascinating, especially Galois. First few chapters makes you feel awed about Fermat himself. I still believe he had his own proof just on the scale of Galois level of creativity. How can a 17 year kid have a profound mathematical theory chopped out with so many disturbances in life...Makes me believe in God for creating such minds.I appreciate this book author to throw some light in the eye of today's competitive exam craziness aka maths Olympiad. The book gives a taste of what true mathematics is and what true mathematicians are...Would love to translate this book to my mother tongue - marathi (indian regional language of state Maharashtra)

Very good book
It is a very intriguing book. It actually made me challenge myself regarding the various unsolved historical equations. It talks about a lot of mathematical legends of the past and builds up a story behind the unsolved Fermat's theorem.

This is real love, true bliss
This is real love, true bliss, just WOW.This book takes you through the journey of 395 years of struggles of the Mathematical World. It is the biography of a small equation that baffled entire community of mathematicians. You need not be a math grad or a science student to get it, Simon Singh has done an outstanding job in explaining the thing in common man's tongue.Warning: Quality is very poor, its a duplicate I assume, but the content is authentic and worth at this price.
